Today is the day I start fishing towards my Lu Shang's. I found a guide online that shows you how to level fishing to 56 and, hopefully, get enough Moat Carp to get Lu Shang's Fishing Rod by the time you hit level 56. I plan on fishing every carp up myself. It's only 833.33333 stacks!

I'll keep everyone posted on my progress via sig updates. It shouldn't take me more than 2-3 months to do it (Depending on RL stuff) so yeah, Lu Shang's will be mine. Oh, yes. It will be mine.

Good luck! It took me about half a year but I took many breaks.
Fastest place to do this is in the Knightswell in West Ronfaure with Hume rod and insect paste.

A friend of mine gave me his far better secret plans that got him his Lu Shang's in no time so I am so using that

Sorry I can't share but a tip: I won't be hard-core Carp fishing until my skill is higher.

Also, my Crafting LS is starting to wonder if the GilSellers on Phoenix aren't going after Lu Shang's. We've seen lots of Taru's with /anon on in Windurst Woods at the fountain bot fishing lately.

I dabble in fishing. Mostly to get the fish I need for cooking without having to buy them

Having fished under both the old and new systems, I have one word of warning.

It used to be as easy to fish drunk in game as IRL. This is no longer the case.

I hated the old system with a passion.

I love the new system like...a kitten. A cute, adorable kitten.

I quested my Shang twice, once under the old system and later under the new one.
Under the old system as a level 50 fisher, I could only get max 3 stacks of moat per hour, under the new one as a level 20 fisher I easily caught 5-6 stacks per hour. Besides, the old system is boring imo. (though I do admit that some fish are now harder to pull up than they should be)
