White Mage?

Do we make good White Mages? Basically this summer I want to avert from Ranger (once I get it I don't know if I will want to avert at that point but oh well) and do White Mage. So, basically I just want to know how good of a WHM we make.

Mithra are generaly seen as second-best for WHM, and can arguably be called the best for WHMs. Mainly due to having a high agility, and the second most MP.

Of course, a lot of it depends on your skill and your subjob; that counts for a lot in the mid to upper levels.

What do you suggest for a sub job? I was thinking of Smn or BLM.

From what I have read, BLM is your best bet as it will give you the highest MP boost, which is what a WHM needs the most. Also get as much gear as possible to boost MP and MND. Don't worry about special armor, defence, or attack, or anything but ** +MP and +MND stuff **.

Well you cant go wrong with Blm sub (Its the most popular in fact)

Although I might add Smn is arguably the 'best' sub for Whm as it gives the most Mp & Mind of any sub, plus at lvl 50 Whm / 25 Smn you will have both auto-regen AND auto-refresh. Uber

Also Mithra do indeed make damn good Whm's for reasons mentioned above and the fact that we are much more likely to survive accidental aggro that, say, a Taru. Only an Elvaan has more Mind, and only a Tarutaru has more Mp.

I am only a 20 WHM but I am really enjoying it. AS long as you keep on top of the spells and have +MP gear you can make an awesome WHM.
In my time playing I have only had two people die in my groups, both because of pulling an IT ++ and the main tank was a Taru.

No, I do not have a vendetta against Tarus...

Most Mithra WHM have the potential to be awesome WHMs if they can learn to conserve MP and not throw spells around carelessly like a different race I will not mention...

Mithra make excellent whm's and I'm one to attest to that.

I dont know but I think I'm one of the highest WHM's in the linkshell now. Mithra RSE is phenominal for mage classes and adds that MND that Mithra are missing. Add in some Roasted Mushrooms and you're set!

Need any advice on whm in game? send me a tell and ill help you out (once i get back from vacation of course)

I strongly suggest that you give WHM a try. Heaven knows we need more good WHMs in the game!

I did not like playing as a WHM, except at first when it was new and different. After a while, I realized that I hated sitting on the sidelines and watching people have fun bashing stuff. However, I'm glad I at least tried it out, and now I don't have to wonder about what it's like. Plus, I can drag it out in an emergency (like a WHM shortage for Eco-Warrior, or to help someone kill the M6 dragon).

My advice is to drink lots of juice, and buy good equipment and spells. Also, don't be afraid to be aggressive in a party. WHMs attract all sorts of idiot parties, and when one goes bad, don't be afraid to take control of the situation. I never could.

Hi, as far as mages, we just rock. I am RDM, but I am leveling WHM & BLM. I will level SMN as well, someday. BLM is the most comon sub for WHM, any race. RDM works, but there is a lot of spell duplication, When I level WHM, I sub BLM.

The big advantage to the Mithra Mage is survivability. We can take a few hits & dodge a few more.
