How I deal with Allakhazam
I cut myself then pour salt in the wound followed with the juice of a fresh squeezed lemon because if I'm gonna be in that much pain at least some of it should be self-inflicted.
Yes, I went there to ask for tips on soloing SMN to 20 and after my thread was buried under countless "OMFG Diabolos is SO F***ING 1337!!!!11" I decided to try the BST forums, figuring that a BST solo guide could offer some tips. There I was overwhelmed with "SE nerfed BST!!!!111" topics.
Then, because I hadn't suffered enough I went to the main forum to see what the new whine of the week was. Inflation. Everyone complaining about luxury item prices, how gilsellers are evil/eat babies/vote Republican/etc., and countless ideas they pulled out of their asses to fix the economy.
Welcome to my nightmare.

Lol, Alla is - on the whole - pretty horrid. Large websites seem to have this strange kind of mental vacuum, into which all intelligence is sucked away, leaving only, well, retardedness.Yes, I went there to ask for tips on soloing SMN to 20 and after my thread was buried under countless "OMFG Diabolos is SO F***ING 1337!!!!11" I decided to try the BST forums, figuring that a BST solo guide could offer some tips. Lol, I'm in love with inflation ATM. I buy the materials needed to make a stack of sheep leather for 6k~, inc. crystals. At the Windurst AH, the last stack of sheep leather sold for 50k; 40k is normal. That's over 30k profit, without any farming. Repeat for just about any consumable with NPC-purchasable products. Then, because I hadn't suffered enough I went to the main forum to see what the new whine of the week was. Inflation. Keavy, if you can't take Alla, DO NOT even think about posting on GameFAQs.

Oh, I love inflation for the following reason: When your main is WHM your farming options are limited so I usually farm Beehive Chips, Honey, Yagudo Feathers, Insect Wings, Silk Thread, trade Crawler Calculuses to the "Pirate Mithra" and desynth Yagudo Necklaces into Grass Thread or Copper Ingots (Depending on which elementals I've killed lately) and thanks to the power leveling crafters I don't have to farm as much to make what I once did.
I could farm as normal and rake in the cash but I'm lazy.

Ever since that Strange Apparatus post was put up I do not really farm anymore. I too am a WHM and money is frickin impossible to come by. I must say though thanks to the Strange Apparatuses I have gone from a pittance of 20-50k to nice 600-700k which for me as a WHM is alot of money. I will still farm occasionally for beehive chips or tree cuttings but that about it.
Im too lazy to craft too much work and too much money. the only craft i really like is fishing and Im not even too proficient at that

Cutting trees in Yhoater Jungle is not bad for a white mage.
Once you Teleport-Yhoat, there are two "logging trails" you can follow going to the northeast or northwest. So, I'd follow one trail, Teleport-Yhoat, then follow the other trail, Teleport-Yhoat, and repeat.
If you're still on the low-level side, you may need to use sneak past a couple of malboros or use invis past some goblins or that couerl near the telepoint. You can still chop wood with sneak on.
The tree cuttings, ebony and mahogany logs you can get are usually pretty good for gil
You can also collect beehive chips, dryad roots, and rattan lumber (which sell okay in stacks).
I've never had competition for logging these trees.

heh, I seem to be the only one who enjoys alla.
Compared to KI or Gamefaqs I find Alla to be less {Um...} painful to read.
Theres alot of intresting reading on the alla furoms. The job and crafting furoms are very helpful for beginners and the quest/mission walkthroughs are very handy.
The Remora and Main furoms are also my daily source of drama.

Oh, I enjoy Alla - or at least, some of it. Threads on the main page are OK until about reply 10 or so; the crafting forum is good until someone posts "how far will X gil get me?" at which point the posters - rightfully - get irked; and I actually find most of the guides kinda helpful. But, yes, you often have to dig a bit.
