I've been thinking about this for a while. Firemyst was a name I used in FFXI Beta, because I use it everywhere. I always had a weird feeling about using it, since it's more a use for my dragon persona than anything. Lately I've been becoming more and more attached to my mule's name, Mystiana.
I decided to go with this name (Mystiana Valerian) as my Miqo'te. My problem lies two-fold. Now that I have been selected to lead us into Final Fantasy XIV, I wonder if I should change my username here as well. It would make it easier to find, for sure, but I have a lot of history with "Firemyst" with you all.
I don't want to open it to an official vote or anything, because I will make the decision myself, but what are your thoughts on this? Should I stick with Firemyst here, or change to Mystiana?

In my opinion, you should do what you think is best.

I think for now there are few enough people on the forum that we could keep it straight either way. When the shell gets bigger it'd help if all our names matched/were close.

This was my feeling as well. My problem is I can't think of a good last name to use. Nephylys is what I'd like to use, but I think people would have a hard time trying to spell that out correctly on the first time. And I'd short it down to Neph or Nephy, but it just doesn't sound as good. Gaaah.

Even though Kaorii is my XI Mithra, I always felt that I was abandoning her. Karou Ariyen is a chance to revive. A New last name is her restart. Yes I'm going with Karou over Kaoru (the original name but I typoed) because everyone knows me as Karou. Her reputation as the goof off and the tension breaker and the ability to make others laugh kind of made me miss her.

I'll stick with my FFXI name, Yukira if it's available in Lindblum. I'm just way too fond of it. Though I probably should come up with a new backgroung story...or I could just modify the old one and replace the locations and races to FFXIV ones.
On the other hand, it would be nice to make a fresh start. Hmm...I'll have to think about it.
