If you custom build your PC right, you don't need to upgrade for about 4-5 years. I still run the old Koolance EXOS-2 External Water Cooler, My Video cards are not bare minimum but their not the "latest and greatest". I run an Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme on a Mobo that can support it that is about 3 years old, and even though it's fried, I have the same model Mobo coming in the mail.

I don't have money for "flash and bang." I build to keep up to date on a 4-5 year span. I will never, EVER ditch my Razer Barracuda sound card either :love:

Keep in mind though financially you're looking at $499 (Retail price for a PS3 at release) vs. at least $1500 if you want a pc with the same lifespan game wise.

More if you want to go true high end.
