sounds like the guys who run the website incorporated and bought themeselves out with investor, or their own, money.

Well I'm not sure.
This has probably been an action to avoid having to pay certain taxes.
Just speculation though.

Do not be mistaken, RMT is a huge business where a lot of money is made from.
(And a lot of money is laundered (SP) by several mafias, especially in the east asian countries.)
(Hence the words, buying gil supports terrorism.)
Some RMT shops make up to $10.000 or even more per day, do not be mistaken.
