I know it sounds silly, but Shock Absorber. Aurore can now use Stoneskin on WHM Head. I'm just now getting her properly geared up. Gonna need it to get to 75 PUP.

I think I can happily collapse in sleep. This job is going to be level75 by the end of the week.

Well, hopefully. Fable 2 comes out tuesday and I really doubt I can manage DRG67-75 tomorrow.

Ding 67 DRG. Three more levels and I'll stop the leveling madness for a bit to grab the last few levels worth of armor. Maybe try farming Ose for an Assault Jerkin if possible.

Aiming for as much XP before the party dies out and I head to sleep.

50k Total XP earned. Not to shabby. Need to stop for some weapon/armor upgrading.

Citadel Buster is what got us in the end

People didn't get away fast enough and took a fair few casualities. We had 3 PLDs, 2 would get 1-shotted by it while the other got taken down to 3HP (separate occasions).

Been a long time since i posted, but in one week i got 3 of the relic pieces from Dynamis-Beaucedine to make me 5/5 and 6/6 on relic.

This after 3+ years of dynamis...

Hmm. Can't find the SS of the 6/6 SMN. Oh well, I'll keep looking.

PLD40 was hit yesterday. Gonna start getting the stuff for it. Parade Gorget, Hercules Ring, Shield Earring, MErcenary's Earring, Those +3 Dex rings, 40-60 Armor, and maybe, maybe, a Vermy cloak.

Ugh, that sucks to loose all those hard won chips. Don't feel too bad, though. There's almost never a "clean" Ultima fight. Experience helps a great deal. I bet y'all do great the second time around.

Here's what we used to do:

Fight him down to about 22-23%. Then STOP. No more DD at all. Get everyone back to full mp/hp.

For the under 20% phase when he does his CB's, make SURE you have people doing assists to find WHO is the guinea pig for that CB. The target has to stay and die and everyone else has to run away from the target. Note that his agro can switch after he starts the CB, but the CB will still be on the person that had agro at the time it started the CB.

Ideally, target will be a tank, but it could be anyone. Make SURE you only have ONE tank at a time tanking during CB phase. We used three total. Agro swap pre-CB phase, then during CB phase one tank would go in and get agro and then (ideally) be the one to die to CB. Then he'd be raised and run out to rest up to full while the next tank did the CB tank & sacrifice thing.

We used PLD/nin & 2 NIN/xxx. Used NIN/drk and NIN/war -- both are ok, though NIN/drk can easily generate too much agro during pre-CB phase. Pre-CB the PLD/nin really has a rough time getting and holding agro. CB phase, PLD shines -- Invincible is great for pulling agro fast.

Other potential CB tanks include MNK using 100F. If you have a mnk that uses 100F during CB phase, he'll end up tanking anyway unless he's new and undergeared. Just make sure you call out who has agro on the CB. BLMs are great for agro-shouts, since they don't usually have weapons drawn (weapons out blocks the agro-check macro).
