Honestly when I saw he said he spent 1k hours on the game (40 days 40 nights) I didn't think it was that bad. Sure it sounds like a lot. But take a look at some of the players here in FFXI, myself included. Look at our playtimes. How much time we've wasted sitting for hours waiting for NM's to pop, waiting to get an invite to a party or just getting on the airships and boats to get from one place to another.
Its up to each person to keep the amount of time he spends on a video game in check and not let it get out of control or become a problem that affects his/her life.
Just gotta remember, there's the video game world, then there is the real world. Sure its nice to get away for a while in the game world but the real world is whats gonna matter the most.
