I realized that soon I will be a level 75 WHM and my options are to either quit, join endgame, or level something else. Well, I'm gonna level something else. I don't wanna quit and I really don't wanna join endgame unless my friends restart their linkshell. Which job will I level next? Bard, probably. Because its cheap and I'm cheap. Also, I like that special feeling you can only get by logging in and getting five party invites in thirty seconds

So, with all 5 Limit Breaks done and a level 75 job to assist with the AF quests, will I have an easier time than I did with WHM? Please tell me I will. The only thing that's keeping me from leveling another job is the thought of having to go through the hell I went through trying to get my WHM AF. I had to do...things... ...I need to be alone now.

Well Bard is a completely different job then WHM, but after you get past the newness of it you should be fine.

Levelling a second (third, forth, fifth...) job is much easier since you already have many skills capped and pretty much know the drill. You know where to fight, what mobs do what and so on.

Easier in more ways then you think.

1. You have more experience in leveling at lower levels with your main and sub jobs.
Leveling will go tons faster at lower levels.
2. You have more money, and farming is a lot easier so it's a lot easier to obtain some of the better gear.
3. You must have partied with other bards so you should have a general idea what to sing for party buffs and monster debuffs.
4. AF Coffer key mobs can be soloed, they con easy prey. A thief is handy for better droprate.
The downside however is that you need to be the job you're getting the AF for to open the coffers.
That means you'll have to go back and change to bard after you get a key.
4.1 AF NMs can be done with way less people then you needed before.
5. You're done with the Limit breaks, you won't have to take a break from leveling again to redo them.

Sweet. Yeah, I got Bard to level 35 so I got a lot of the spells I need already learned and the skills capped at that level. I just need to rebuy some equipment (Instruments, Ceremonial Dagger, etc.) and remake my macros for Bard.

I was gonna level Red Mage but I'm sick of having to watch my MP.

I love WHM but not enough to de-level it so I can level it again. Like a friend of mine did with BLM. No, I'm not kidding. Ask Finwich, she knows who I'm talking about.

I want a job that is different from WHM but not drastically different.

According to your sig you're only WHM60, not even half way to 75 you've still got a good few months left depending on how often you play.

rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrofl...

I <3 deleveled Kxpuc. That may have been the funniest thing ever. *Psssst, I'm 45 now!!!!*

Much easier to level the second job. BRD will be sooooo easy with the 238472389298 party invites you get and all, but 55-65 is still a rough place for any job.

Also depends on how much you play. My whm is 61 right now, and I just can't bring myself to make parties for it, so I just seek. Then again, I am a bit of a whm hater, just levelling it to help out my ls.

That's because I've been spending my time earning up my cash. With the new areas and such I should be level 75 in no time. But I may take a break after I beat Maat at 68 then go level Bard.

tvym...

:) That would be courtesy of Mr. Stephen Sondheim from his musical Into the Woods.

The full quote is:

You're so nice.
You're not good, you're not bad,
You're just nice.
I'm not good, I'm not nice,
I'm just right.
I'm the witch.
You're the world.

But that doesn't really fit well into a sig file or my bazaar.

Took me a good 2 months to go from 61-75 on COR and only thing I had to worry about was having enough money for bullets. Even without Maat I'd imagine it'd take WHM longer.

but that was prolly because I hate that job and was dragging my feet on even exping it

 YES! You can cuddle me :D
hehe, I just put that up as a temp-sig until I re-did the one I had before... I'll put cuddle back since ya like it *purrss*

As for why I leveled WHM to 75...
*---story time---* /em hands out milk & pie

I quit WHM @ lvl 68 right after I beat Maat.
I wanted to focus on Summoner (the only job I ever wanted to be).
I got pressure from my LS at the time to get it to 75 because they needed WHM's (to do their bidding no questions asked).
I vowed that I would never level WHM again unless Raise III mysteriously appeared in my delivery box. (at the time that spell was very $$$... esp. for me... with maybe 5-8k to call my own)

Fast forward several months... I was in a new linkshell. My SMN was just about 75. My (in-game) sweetie got Raise III doing a BCNM or something and sent it to me...
I see it... and I'm like doh!!!! :x /angry motion @ Moogle
So I had to keep my vow!!! (that and I thought purrhaps that current LS might need my help as whm here & there so... x.x)

I lvled RDM to 34 before I started PUP, so I have an idea of what it's like. Yes, it certainly is easier at lower lvls, but pt invites died out at 36. (lolpup enters peoples' minds then, even though I outdamage most of them out of Motivation and sheer dedication to my job. It ain't lolpup it's gopup here. :D ) So all in all, I gained alot of experience and a sub that'll last until 69! So yes, it's easier in a sense.

*Cuddles Tian Tian back*
Love the sig!

@ Bitneko stay dedicated to your job and you'll make it.
Party invites dying out at 36 is pretty normal as people stop there when their subjobs reach level 37.
A few jobs still have it easy to get invites but until late 50's early 60's it's not easy for any job.
A lot of jobs like Dragoon, Monk, Summoner, Puppetmaster and even Paladin and White mage have a hard time at those levels to find a decent party.

Ninjas get Utsu NI so healers get lazy so just refuse to heal Paladins.
Red Mages get Convert at level 40, refresh at 41 and raise at level 38 so they become more effective at main healing because they just hardly run out of MP.
WHM gets raise II at 56 which makes them useful again after that.
(They forget higher level regens, Erase, Haste at 40 *mumbles*)
And summoner is stuck spamming Cure II's until level 42.
(They forget that we can dispel, enfeeble and DD quite a bit as well *mumbles some more*)

Monks and Puppetmasters even scary DD as they are/can be don't have a place in normal EXP parties because they can't make a Distortion SC.
(At least Monk till level 60 I believe)

Dragoons are scary DD's as well but still have to live with the fact that their Penta thrust got nerfed (A long time ago.) and doesn't give that much TP gainback anymore while still outdamaging most DD in DoT and make a pretty nasty skillchain.

Also Bitneko I gotta respect you for playing the job you want. Keep going with it, and you'll travel far. PPl tell me to stop playing Dark Knight, and go back to mages (my specialty) and I told them to screw off. Play what you wan't to play. :)

Really?

On Remora things seem a bit different. There are tons of high levels, but the low and mid levels seem to be going strong as well.

About a week ago I was chocoing through the dunes to get to Lufaise and did a /search while I was in the area out of curiousity. 100 people in the area- most of them in their teen levels and several without sub-jobs. This was during the week too, not on the weekend.

In all the baby areas I've seen people running around with the new player "?" over their heads and althought RMT is certainly rebuilding their ranks after the last nuke SE dropped on them...these seem to be real new players- normal(ish) names, ? on their foreheads for several days, aimless wandering around town, typical "newbie" questions and the "blank stare before engaging a monster" behavior when outside as they try to fumble their way through the menus to attack something.

Not just a few either. Its practically impossible to run in one of the starter towns without seeing new players all over the place.
