Going to clear some things up here.....
I have been reading the Nintendo forums...let me throw in some info here..........

We are getting the Wii first, like we did with the DS, we get it NOV 19th they get it DEC 2nd

yes the DS will have wirless connection with the Wii (being used in Pokemon Battle Revolution)

Also we will not have internet on Wii untill Pokemon Battle Revolution is released in DEC in Japan, European release: December 8

You buy cards or use a CC to charge "points" to us in virtual console
$1 = 100 points

some people where confused about this....
Zelda TP has two versions GC and Wii, it is not just one that has added fetures, make sure you reserve the right one

Wii can NOT play DVDs the option was removed to lower price....like we needed it anyway :p

Some Wii games will use the Classic controler (like Smash Brothers Brawl)

Wii Sports is packaged with the Wii

Amazon.com is (As of this posting) the only place that you can pre-order the Wii console.

I'm glad they dumped the DVD player. My PS2, Xbox 360, iMac, and iBook all play DVD's not to mention that I own a DVD player so the last thing I need is another DVD playing device.

That's awesome news. I'm guessing FF Crystal Chronicals II will use that aswell since the first used GBA. Something to look forward to when my friend finishes uni and gets one

Well~ I'd say most people will have a PC (with DVD drive) or a DVD player so it isn't really needed. I'm taking a wild guess here that like the previous Nintendo systems this one won't be using the standard so games won't be on DVDs unlike PS2 and Xbox. Since those systems already use DVDs it's not very hard to make them play DVD movies

we got the original DS first, but yeah JP got the DS lite first :p

some people are complaing about the dumbest things over on the Nintendo forums.

"the Wii should play DVDs because the Wii games are DVD format"

"the controlers are to expensive" you are paying for Gyro tech

"the Wii is to expensive" Nintendo make money? omg no ^.-

"its dumb to launch after the PS3" "so......

"we only get the White Wii at launch" and.....

I say BS and shut up to all these complains lol

nono hehe their are not the same as GC....think of it as a little better then the X-box

but the mistake most people make when talking about the grpahical power of a game system, is relying on their specs....and the GC proved that wrong with games like RE4 (GC was weaker then PS2 in hardware but look at RE4) same thing for Wii

The graphics are better than the Xbox by quite a good deal. They're just not 'OMFG HDTV!!' better like X-crate 180 and P$3.

lol yeah I know -.- but some people are just stupid, me I could care less as long as it did not look like PS1 or something :p

the Wii has the abliltiy to compet with PS3 and 360 even if the specs say no.

I think its funny when people talking about graphic when the majority have played old games systems like Atari's and original nintendo's. And you know what? those games still rock!

The thing with the graphics is this: PS3 may be a powerhouse, but if its difficult to program for, no one's going to put the effort needed into taking advantage of that power because it could cost more than the game will make and as Pheonixhawk pointed out games that are fun are better than games that are pretty.

yes me and 3 of my friends completly agree with that :p look at what MS 360 did to bomberman....omg its horable....

yeah its cool and all........but this is not bomberman -.-

Approximately 3 hours after its release on Amazon.com it ran out of preorders. The nintendo Wii Is sold out on Amazon.

Yeah, I went to get mine after I posted that they were taking pre-orders and discovered that.

That's bomberman?

maybe it's just a bad guy, I doubt Hudsonsoft would change the look of bomberman. Remember Atomic Bomberman (possibly best Bomberman game ever)? Still essentially the same look.

It is common knowlege that consoles are more expensive to make, than the selling price. Also, you DO NOT own the console you bought, they still own it. What you are paying for is the rights to borrow the use of the machine. I know the thing about not owning the machine is stated on the 360 box, I wanted to scan it as proof.

yeha I know abotu that, but who cares if Nintendo makes alittle of the system, Sony and MS chose to loose money, does not mean Nintendo has to, besides even with it at 250 it is still cheaper then 360 or PS3, and will be just as fun if not better IMO

Sony should have not made a system that cost $1000 to make -.- thats their problem

I personally will buy a Wii before I buy a 360 or PS3. No way in hell am I paying that much for either system. Plus the controller for the Wii is awesome. I hope they come out with a sword game so I can have spasms and swing it around like an idiot in the comfort of my own home.

That is awesome. I'd like to see the x-brick or PS3 do something fun like that. I just hope the games turn out well with sword fighting in it.

I was seeing dual weilding in Red Steel :p and also was seeing sword/gun combos going on

XBox(360) and PSx use specific accessories for special games.

List of PS2 "accessory" games:
Guitar Hero
DDRs
Sing Star
Buzz
Various gun games

It makes the game that much more expensive but for everything else the standard controller is spot on.

thats the best thing about the Wii, for the most part you dont need accessories :p the Wiimote (yes this is its name) can act as a sword, gun, steering wheel, fishing pole, ect. useing two Wiimotes opens even more doors (not useing nunchu atatment)

and playing FPS on Wiii will be alot easier then on other systems, the Wiimote will act like a mouse for looking around ^.^
