OK BLU and PUP unlocked. My LS wants to do COR as an LS event this weekend so i'll unlock it then.

By the way, as a Level 52 WHM with as much +HP gear as I can wear I can EASILY get one-shot killed in the new area from aggro.

No F***ing joke, people. I have had that happen more times than I care to remember. BE CAREFUL!!!

EDIT: Aww, hell with it. I'm unlocking COR. If I get it i'll let you know :D

EDIT: All three jobs unlocked. On the boat on my way to get some parts for Serene (My Puppet) and have them installed before I head off to level.

I'll let you all know about the new Jobs. COR's level 5 Die I really wanna check out.

Okay, while I haven't leveled COR an LS mate has so here's the scoop:

The Exp. bonus is 10% but if you use "Double Up" and get the correct number (I think he said 11) then you get a 20% bonus. If you fail "Double Up" and get a "Bust" then your "Bonus" becomes -9% exp.

EDIT: Oops, almost forgot: You can only use one COR roll per minute and the effects cannot be overwritten and you can't use a roll until its effects wear off. Like with Bard, you can have 2 different effects on at one time.

Example: If Exp. Bonus is active then that roll cannot be reused until it wears off.

I did all 3 yesterday. Soloable by a Lv25 WHM or /WHM because you only need sneak and invisible.

Cards for CORs and puppet atachments are sold in the town of Nashmau, just a short boat ride.

Everything that spawned on deck was EP to me at L 68.

maybe its just me... but has anyone else noticed that both the puppetmaster's automaton (shock absorber) and blue mage (metallic body) have access to stoneskin before level 10??

Maybe SE is trying to tell us something about Valkurm Dunes... lol

A little correction about COR's Phantom Roll:

You CAN overwrite a roll with another one as long as the COR does not already have that effect. So, if you had Chaos Roll and Hunter's Roll, you could overwrite one with Ninja's Roll or something.

Apparently just equipping the right two BLU spells gives you Auto Refresh

It is starting to look like RDM/BLU might be way better than RDM/BLM. And BLU/WAR might just be the next tank.

I think that subbing BLU would cause you miss out on stuff that BLM offers, like a few passive M.Attack bonuses, Clear Mind, and Conserve MP.

Oh yeah, and Warp/Escape and Elemental Seal.

In other news, BLU seems to have a healthy pool of MP when a main job.

Which spells would those be? I demand proof!

BLU/WAR probably couldn't pull in enough hate, if you're talking about using Cacoon and Metallic Body I dunno the casting duration for those spells but it'd have to be within getting bitch-slapped, also I think their VIT and DEF would still be below that of a PLD and probably a WAR too.

so far the blu/war i talked with seemed to be doing okay with hate control... im gonna guess its nothing exceptional. They do get Provoke after all past lv 10 with war sub anyway. Plus theres lots of +hate gear out there that they can use as well.

Cocoon is insane because it grants you a 50% bonus to your def (rounded down) for 2 minutes, so defence is not a problem. just cast it before the puller gets back.

Metallic body is okay.... casting time like normal stoneskin but recast timer is about a minute. Not sure if fast cast works on it or not... it also seems you can do that one trick like with ninja utsusemi where you cast overtop of the spell... which is different than normal stoneskin i think. so theres not any real problems there... except guessing how much stoneskin you have left.

tanking as blu/war would likely mean acting like nin/war with utsusemi. since the recast timer on metallic body is poop you wanna cast it while the puller is away and right before the puller gets back cast cocoon. beat up monster. rinse repeat.

the only problem is mp later on. you will likely need to pack pie and juice for this in a tanking type situation.. or in a DD situation as well.

What I meant was that you can't cast the same roll over and over again like a Bard can do with their songs.

As a Bard I can cast the same song over as soon as my timer expires. With COR you have to wait for that effect to wear off to use that roll again.

Don't forget that the spells themselves boost your stats.

I learned that after equipping a new spell after a level-up.

Interesting little tidbit SE threw in for all the BLU lovers, really does make them quite diverse.

As for BLUs tanking; through dunes anyone with /WAR can do it (pretty much, had a galka BRD/WAR tanking), Qufim and Jungles they may be able to hack it but it starts to get hard in Garlaige. WAR without tanking gear can't tank there (effectively) so that'd be the first test of their tanking abilities. If they can survive that then they could probably tank through to Tree, after that raptors will probably be too hard for them to handle but will be interesting to see :)
