I want those clothes, well most of them at least.

I want the 100 space safe to keep them in.

I want the bikinni, goldsmith shades, and a lying down sunbathing animation too.

You can throw in a pony as well.

Heh...cool. Those are actually model edits using the model viewer, not actual armor. Whoever did those is very talented and creative!

The black armors on the bottom are actually the various armors the crystal warriors wear. The black mage looking one is normally used by a tarutaru, but I like how they changed it for mithras ^^ What I'm wondering is, how the heck people find the free time to do this stuff o.O these models look flawless.

Ok, I figured it out. Took a while, but now I can share:

The monster files, when unzipped, have a DAT file in there.
The first number is the folder, the second is the file name.
For example:
The Red crab: 5-27.DAT

This goes in Folder 5, with the name 27.DAT

Make SURE you back up the original 27.DAT first before you try this.

Once done, the regular clippers(crabs) will be a nice rosy red.

Now, the clothing.

In these zip files, are 3 or 4 files.
The largest in size is always the torso armor.
The 17KB one is usually the gloves, the16KB is the shoes.
The gloves are usually more complicated than the shoes, so that should tell you which is which.
The file around 25-27KB is the legs.

These numbers should be true for the mithra. These mods will NOT work for anyone else. I tried, and it just looks like a huge blob of colors.

As far as the weapons go, that will take longer to figure out.
If people really need help with those, I'll fiddle with it, but as a WHM I don't get to play with any shiny swords.

Yup. Its fun to change the game around.. I actually nabbed one of these and played with it. Interestingly enough, the dats can be edited more, and I've tinkered lighlty with some variants. It's certainly not new technology (Qauke 1 anyone?

) but it's unfortunate side effect, is that you're the only one who sees the changes. Your peers will still just see the "regular" you.

Moore's the pity. I'm sure there'd be some -very- creative works by some extremley talented artists and animators that we'll just never get to see.

Yeah.. since it's local, I decided not to bother with changing the dat files. Besides, if Square has to update one, or you have to re-install, it would all be lost anyway...

I wish we could submit ideas to Square though. ^.~

It would be great if Square Enix allowed custom armors to be submitted and distributed for use in the game. I mean, not tons and tons of custom armor (too many files to download, and it takes a while for models to load as it is, especially in Jeuno

), but they could have a custom armor contest, and then the winner gets to have his/her design used in the game. That would be cool.

Yeah, instead of a screenshot contest, which seems to be more about what text you have instead of what picture, but to have a custom armor contest... that would be sweet. They are adding stuff all the time, so we wouldn't even have to wait for an expansion or whatnot.
