Okay so I was sufing the net and I saw a interesting link pop up talking about trading FFXI items. So being the curious little kitty that I am (will one day get killed by curiousity as the saying goes) clicked the link to find a website selling gil. Obviously my first reaction was Damn You Gil sellers. However something caught my eye. I couldnt believe it. Not only are they selling gil but PEOPLES ACCOUNTS!?! I couldnt believe it. As soon as I saw that i felt something horrible stir in my gut. Whether it was complete disgust or pure fury i couldnt tell. But I didnt like it. The thought of somone purchasing another account is sooooo scary. I mean what if a buddy of mine quit and somebody sold his account. When I see him online he wouldnt even know me and bam end of a freindship. Ppl just love to ruin good video games.

I have encountered my fair share of purchased accounts.
One I suspected was a purchased account was a Red Mage who would cast Haste on the entire party while meleeing then used Convert with 2 MP right in front of the mob then HP'd and disbanded after the mob slaughtered his incredibly stupid 2HP after Convert ass and started calling us n00bs for getting him killed.
And from what my friends have told me, even a Rank 10 in all nations with multiple jobs at level 75 and merits can be a f***ing moron.
As for gilselling and account buying, these people appeared shortly after the genesis of online gaming so we simply have to learn how to deal with them and their customers. No matter what SE does we'll never get rid of them.

A friend of mine said hes going to sell his account when he quits....i doubt he will, but i know many people who bought accounts (lazy bastards) Its sad, but people will do it

Yea...it's really stupid to do things like that. People buy accounts so they can start out high level and be all uber...but in truth, all that does is make them really high level noobs. I've had a level 63 monk in my party not know what SATA is, I've had a white mage who ran up and meleed (and got himself killed by AoE) and a lvl 65 blm that thought he was the main healer (with a whm and rdm in the party). Some pretty obvious account-buyers. And yea, I've seen a few of those rank 10 multi-75 morons
