Warrior hands-down. They're versatile and have plenty of unique tricks up their sleeve. You could pretty much call the original tanks since they're the ones who get Provoke.

Well, not only that, but great axes are damn sexy, as is the WAR AF.

Red Mage, most definately. One, the AF hat. Two, they can fill almost any role. Healer, nuker, even tank with the proper foods and armor.

I love thief. My reasons are it's evasion so i hardly ever get hit, and the attack speed with the daggers I really like, cuz I play more with speed. Also the SATA is awesome

treasure hunter is cool too, though i havent gotten it to lvl 45 for TH2. and i think the hide ability is lvl 35 but i havent gotten there yet either, but i will sometime in the near future

My choice: White Mage

To be able to help people!!
To go to places where very few other jobs can go and explore because you can be stealthier then a Ninja.
Get to places faster then any other job and out of them just as fast.
To be able to pull phoenix tactics (Reraise /hurray)

Red Mage:

1) cool swords (can get excalibur!)
2) solo exploration capabilities and survivablility (tougher than your average base job mage)
3) also has phoenix tactics (past lv 66 /whm or with reraise earring/scroll)
4) dang near invulnerable (stoneskin, phalanx, blink)
5) regenerative capabilities w/o needing rest (refresh + regen or convert+ high cure)
6) sweet AF armor (nuff said)

Well, it was hard to pick just one. I like WHM because it's easy to get a party and I like the feeling that you get from being the rescuer or medic. Plus the Teleports are really nice!

But I chose RDM because I played my gf's RDM this weekend and totally kicked arse! It felt like complete freedom... I was replenishing HP and MP while fighting, when things got bad, I healed completely and Converted and was able to survive a fight I thought I'd lose, and there's just the whole range of melee and magic that you have at your disposal, so I'm jealous of her character now.

Of course, Josiejo is a committed melee character, but I'm really not impressed with melee jobs so far. Warrior was fun for a while, but felt very repetative. Thief seems too weak at lower levels to really get the job done solo... seems slow to level. Monk is just boring, but nice to level to sub for Warrior, and you also can level this job really well on new characters without buying any weapons. Just go out and get stacks of crystals while you're leveling and you'll start building your bank without having to spring for gear until level 7.

Monk. Even though my warrior is in the mid 40's and my monk is only 18 I enjoy the hand to hand type of combat the monk over the tradition roll of the warrior. I guess I just enjoy wearing gi.

Now warrior is much more versatile and (IMO) much more useful for an xp pt. (Hence the reason why I leveled it so far.)

I like the way thf plays in xp parties. Have to be mobile and when you do you're job right, the xp just flows.

And the soloing abilities. Being able to go out and fight things that other jobs wouldn't even dream of. I can farm things alone that ppl go out to farm with buddies.

Monk for me, I find it easyer to lvl since it can hold it's own against most Evens, and a few Ts with the right weapon and food.

I enjoyed one pt outside Kazham which had only one caster and the rest were melee. We mowed through gob after gob and got up to a chain of 5 for xp

Red Mage all the way.

All other jobs just evolve. You do much the same things at 60 as you did at 15, just with bigger, badder tools and moves. The job of the Red Mage in parties changes as you level.

First you are a front line melee type with debuffs and Cures. At the end you are a support and healing Mage. In between, you can stand in for most any mage who isn't around.

Swords, Daggers, Shields, Armor. Or Robes and Wands. What role? What look? What weapon? I even study Archery.

Then there are the soloing aspects. I have been soloing Ts all my life. OK, sometimes they solo me...

but every few levels, I HAVE to go test myself against things that are bigger than I. Every time it looks like I might have to stop soloing Ts for sport, a new ability or spell comes along that gives me the upper hand again.

Red Mage, starting out as a BLM sucked!!! But as soon as i became a RDM it was all good. Even goin back to BLM was easier that my elemental and pother magics have been capped using RDM!!!

actually not really, The Terminology of WINJA was created in an Old LS of mine, we had a ranger/ninja and a warrior/ninja and after creating Ranja, they didnt know what to do with Winja but take out the N and replace it with W

i would have to say THF! as it was my starting job on this server and i liked it it was fun and the gil bonus at lvl 5 helps a little bit at low lvls when broke and such. the only thing that sucks is waiting for a pt...every one loves high lvl thfs but hates them under 30 ; ; which is why mines still at 22....but soon as i get crafting up high enuf i'll makes some money and get lots of fame to get utsusemi for nin and try to lvl thf/nin again

Honestly, till 30 and SA/TA the standard pre 30 THF/WAR or /MNK get parties fine, at least on Garuda.

You can probably solo to 25 or 26 on Worms in Qufim with Archery or Marksmanship. Easily if you can /WHM or /RDM for Barstone(ra) and Cures.

I actually have one, I just tend to stay on whichever shell is more active when I have it equpped...or just MP because I'm lazy.

I remember your LS being sort of like MithraPride only with more than just Mithra, which would be great for my Hume character if he weren't on Midgardsormr. I'd move him over (He's a Lv7 WHM, meh. That's like a couple hour's worth of good soloing), but I just feel really strange having two characters on the same server. I dunno why...

Pull with Poison....

If you go BLM 42/RDM you can pull with Gravity.
