Serious question.

I have been debating this for a while now, uncertain I wanted to ask as I rather value my time here and do not want to do anything to harm that.

However as of late I have been giving alot of thought to coming back to ffxi, I honestly loved the game more then any other overall. But because my account has been expired so long my character is forever lost. Now when I first started playing ffxi I had alot more free time then I do now, It would take me a very very long time to get back to where I was. I cannot honestly stomach the thought of grinding all those levels...again, nevermind the crafts. I have an offer from someone who has a kitty on midgard approx the same level as i was..a bit lower but a negligable amount, they wish to trade me for my EQ2 account since I do not play anymore.

If I were to do this would MP hate me for it? I simply wont do the grind again, i have the play experience already the last thing i need is to learn to play again. However its 100% pointless for me to come back if i am going to be outcase because I aquired someone elses account since mine is gone.

Ummm, Square is offering to restore deleted characters now. Just check the main page forrr more info. There is no fee for this either.

Yes They are, the return to vanadiel campeign, its good to check it out and have the character(s) restored, and Im not going to rip you for the "trading" of accounts becuase, as long as no money is involved, and the fact that I know you arnt a gil seller, I would do the same thing in your position, I wont hate you for that, so long as you dont sell gil

That would be nice..if they would allow me to move off sylph, unfortunatlly sylph has no MP, and everyone I knew is long gone. Again, not alot of incentive for me, as i am a fairly social person.

And no, I do not gil sell, have never and never will.

Well for the moment, i gonna wait to see more comments on this and decide where I go from there.

It seems to me that the whole campaign for "Return to Vana'diel" is part of the natural downward spiral of MMOs, so for someone to be interested in coming back if certain requirements are met means more money for them. Easier said, you'd think they'd honor a request for server change after restoring your character if you agree to resubscribe. Something to look into, anyway.

i really don't see a problem with it. is the kitty you are trading with already in mp? it's always nice to keep kitties around, and if they don't want to play anymore, it'd be nice to have someone who wanted to play. as far as i know, noone would mind that you traded. as said before, it's the buying that ticks most of us off.

Oh sweet! I did not see sylph in the list when I looked, I figured my server was getting the shaft like usual.

Ok then forget the trade stuff, Gonna reactivate my account friday.

Ok then, the Biggie question.

You all are well aware of my abilities and my past. I have made my belief system clear, and I have not hidden the fact that in the past I created the infamous summoning skill, magic skill raiser macros. Now remembering this information, If I move my char from sylph to Midgard would I be allowed into the MP shell?

Midgardosrmr has no bot/macro policy for or against, so it's probably up to me. ... so uh.. I guess I don't care. I know of pride members that have used them, and haven't done anything. Why start now? ^^;

Its kinda a moot point colbwa, I have not updated the scripts since november and, honestly have no desire or interest in doing so. I just want to come back and enjoy the game.

don't see how you can cheat C.C; but i'm not a cheater sooo...oh yeah once in yughott grotto i was being murdered by orcs and these high lv poeple just stood there and fished..i called for help..but they just fish they don't do anything! thats why i loathe fishermen in the game

anyway..not all fishermen..just the high lvs that just stand there like morons i mean i'd lugh if a mob came up and killed them they'd just lay there until their time runs out i bet >.>

By the way Yugi, the reason those fishers just kept fishing and didnt do anything....they're bots. So dont hate fishers, hate botters

Well not to start an argument, but not necessarly. Highly likely yes..but not necessarly.

I know when I am fishing I do not speak to anyone..for any reason, and I dont bot fish. Fishing to me was sorta my in game zen so to speak, and Since it was highly highly irritating to have some idiot sending me tells every 5 seconds asking if I was a bot, I usually had my chat off completely.

And if you were to say that's just how you want to play the game, then maybe some people like playing the game by training a bunch of aggro onto indifferent fishermen. I'm sure you'd be upset over that, as would someone who died because you were too busy just standing there. Most people who call for help didn't get into their situation on purpose. Doesn't take long to lend a hand to someone in need, then go back to exciting fishing.

True, but I was generalizing.

Also it depends on the person and the mood they are in. There are times, mostly I would toss a heal or something their way..depending on the level of the mobs. I know alot of times I fished in area's over my level by virtue of sneak and such, and for to help would have been suicide.

Some people of course simply are not interested in helping others..It is their perogative I suppose. I generally try to help If I am in a position to do so.

While I may disagree with Tivia's stance on several issues, I agree with Fayin's comment regarding Tivia's intelligence. We don't see things eye to eye lots of times, but then again, few people do.

The way to get started crafting is to.... well start crafting.

Join the Guilds where you are, save interesting drops, look for recipie sites.

You don't need to craft in a guild near you. I started in Windurst and study Goldsmithing. The first time I saw the Goldsmith's Guild in Bastok, I was a level 10 Goldsmith and ready for my Guild promotion test.

Tell us what crafts interest you and we will happily point you to synths in it.

Welp..today is apparently the big day that I find out if I appear in a new server..

I am actually kinda nervous...Interestingly enough..and hoping I did the right thing by holding off on selling everything i need to sell for the new server..biggest investment gamble I have made in a long long time heh.
