no defense. The IM Armet I have is VIT 1 and DEF 17 i think, is the ribbon worth more for War/Nin?

im doing the Amet but, unless you work with it you dont see it, I had IT mobs cast poison and i resisted it. its not for weaker mobs, its for higher lvl mobs that you gain resistance from.

The resistance you need to resist a spell is insane. The only time I'd consider choosing gear based on that is if you're fighting a Prime. If you can get yourself to over 100 resistance in an element (with gear, buff, w/e) then you'll notice a difference. Sadly, resistance is a joke in this game. You're more likely to resist from high MND or INT (depending on if it's black or white magic). The only time I can remember resisting an IT is on WHM when slow or paralyze is cast upon me. Besides, your /NIN. Utsusemi blocks non-AoE spells anyway ^^

I've resisted the spider AoE slow attacks in Boyhadya(?) tree during XP parties with my Elegant Ribbon, I've also resisted being poisoned by crawlers in the same place. And the negative status effects I do get hit with always wear off much faster than for the others in the party.
But maybe that's just FFXI paying me back for giving me .01% of the drop rate it gives everyone else.
