When i logged out of FFXI on sunday night, there was some kind of thing talking about another event right on the heels of the Starlight Celebration involving some kind of Tenshodo Trading cards and Goblins riding Chocobos....

I'd check this out more... but currently im alone in Delkfutt's tower surrounded by Gigas and Elementals while negotiating with extreme prejudice. Anyone else have a clue whats going on outside the tower?

yep, the moogles have setup a contest with the gobs. The moogles ask your help to find trading cards they have buried in the ground at random locations before the gobs find them, 7 cards in all. You get 3 diffrent prizes depending on the cards you trade in.

Card Set 1

Bishamon
Benten
Daikoku
Gets you the Kobatsu, a MH furnishing

Card Set 2
Fukurokujo
Jurojin
Hotei
Gets you a costume belt depending on the city you trade the cards in.
Windurst = Mandy
Bastok = Worm
Sandy = Rarab

allows you turn into one of the above while in city once a day, 24 hr recharge.

Card Set 3
All of the above cards plus the Ebisu Card

Gets you a necklace that will warp you to the cities Choco Stables, depends on where you trade the cards as to what city you can warp.

You can collect all 3 cities necklaces, and all 3 costume belts. The Costumes are infinite usage i think, just the 24 hr recharge time. the Choco necklaces have a recharge during the event, but i think after that then they lose their recharge and will be useless after the event is over and you use them all up.

Aw, nay, you don't need greens.

As a matter of fact, from what I read, you CAN'T find the upturned dirt on a bird and get the cards. You have to be afoot. Just try to get it before the mounted gobs do!

no no, sorry i didnt explain further

Basically you run around and search for "Overturned Soil" click on it like normal and you'll either find a card, or a "Wayward Worm" will popup and cast Bindga and then vanish. You dont need choco, just click on like normal.

The cards are rare/ex so you can only hold one of each type at a time. The best way to hunt cards is to party and hunt for them, then let everyone cast lots on what they need. Basically when you're alone, you get 1 card, if youre in a party then you find 1 card for each member in the party. the card spawns are random, but if you happen to see a goblin riding a choco, look in that area really quick, cause the goblin will be hunting cards as well and can actually beat you to the cards. At which point you'll need to find another spawn point. the locations are generally the 1st 3 maps away from the starting city, so for instance Windurst. You could find cards in the E. Saruta > Tahrongi, Meriphistaud, and Sauromugue Champaign. So far on my server the Hotei and Ebisu cards are kinda rare, but if you go to the adv. areas (Batallia Downs, Sauromugue Champaign and the like) the cards spawn faster and better. But you can find all 7 cards in one area, you just have to search for them.

Ohhh! The necklaces are recharging now? I didn't try mine since I didn't want to risk wasting a charge. That's super!

I *Think* they are recharging. I'm pretty sure they recharge during the event itself, afterwards they lose the recharge ability and the charges drop till no more are left.

I solo'd so far and got 5/7 cards... not like it matters much, all i want is the costume belts so i can freak the novice adventurers.. I can see it now...

Lol, that would be cool tho, go to Yuhtunga or Yhoat, put on the mandy costume and run around the partys.

My last experience with those belts was a MOB of Mandragora-belt-wearers swarming around me while I was healing by the gate to ES... that was odd o.O

lmao that actualy happend on my sever. i was walking around my first day back from vacation and i see a mandragora walk buy i was WTF!?!?!? and i tried to attack it then i thought wtf?? why did chat and stuff come up on it so i evamined it and i saw gear of a lvl 1 and i was like WTF?? then i realized it was a cutsom but what confuzed me was the guys name was madragora and he was dreesed like one
