I was going through the pictures on my hard drive and ran across this one, which brought back a lot of memories:

That was a picture taken of me by my friend Tori when we were touring Moscow earlier this summer. I had two copies of it made and gave one to my dad. See, when I was a little girl, probably about five years old or so, whenever they'd talk about Russia on the news, they'd always use St. Basil's as a background. I thought it was a really pretty building at the time since it was so colorful, and told my dad that someday I was going to go there. He just kind of laughed it off as a silly childish dream -- then I really did wind up going there. LOL I remember calling my parents up the morning my friends and I decided to go to St. Basil's. I told my dad where we were going, and he kind of laughed at me and said, "Well, you did know this was going to happen. Now you get to live one of your childhood dreams." I started to cry.
So my two friends Tori, Travis, and I took the metro to the stop just up the street from Krasnii Ploshchad' (Red Square) and walked up there. There's sort of a hill leading up to the entrance of Red Square, so you can't really see what's over it until you're nearly at the gates. The three of us all started to cry when St. Basil's peeled into view because it was just amazing. We never thought that three kids from Arizona would ever see something like it. It was a really powerful experience. So once we finished crying, we stuck around and took lots of pictures. ^_^
A picture that always makes me laugh:

Feel free to steal this one if you want (save it to your hard drive, though -- villagephotos doesn't like it when people steal bandwidth). I tend to use it a lot when people start whining on online forums. Sadly, I use it quite a bit. Don't know how I ran across it, though. I think I was doing a search for "wahmbulance" or something and somehow that picture came up. I love it.
