FFXI is a game that is _all_ about teamwork. Few people can do much significant without help, and even then it usually requires large expenditures of gil via meds. The only way to do G1 without some form of high-level help is to do it with at least 5 other people that are capped at level 50.

The best job for leveling 1-10 is Dark Knight, in my opinion. AF tends to be good for all situations. There's a large mix of enhancements spread throughout the pieces, some are good for all situations including PTing, while others are useless unless you are soloing. For example, the Red Mage's AF gloves and boots contribute almost nothing to a PTing Red Mage, ...
