Update Jitters

There’s a new update coming in February and as we count the days, what are your feelings on SE updates?

I haven't been around long enough to see what they do with their updates, so I suppose I'm pretty anxious to see what happens. New equipment is good, that's for sure, and any other surprises they have sounds like fun.

Updates are generally good especially when they add new stuff like Dynamis, Ballista, BCNM's, etc. What I don't like is when they tweak something that doesn't really need fixing and you have to completely relearn an aspect of the game. (ie. food) Also they completely nerfed Drg's that one time and I'm still a little sore over it.

I thought the food changes were good. They made some useless foods, useful again.

I could go either way on this... I'm hoping for some more good stuff and no more food nerfs.

I'm waiting with enthusiasm for anything new....nah, actually I'm waiting that they get those damn chat filters working again!

Still, they might add something fun to FFXI!

I wish they'd come out with somemore jobs. Blue Mage would be cool, and maybe a Necromancer, Engineer, Dancer and Mystic Knight would really add some spice to play options. At least with Dancer, they'd have to make animations for the stupid /dance emote!

It just depends on the update and how quick it takes to install and find everything for me to wonder about it. The food update was kind of nice for the most part but the thing that I didn't like them messing with was my cooking recipes. Anyone know what this update is all about?

Hrrm... they're probably opening Al'taieu, but I'm not in chapter 7 so I won't be able to go. Maybe that'll make people more interested in organizing for those crazy-hard missions.

That spiffy blue and white armor could be a new white mage JSE. I hope it doesn't take a drop off Vrtra to synth it, like one of those other new sets... seriously, why trumpet brand new armor and then say "You will never ever have this."

Then there's the usual "dream on" list I have for every update... Add new sources for Shining Cloth to make Noble's Tunics affordable like Black Cloaks... increase the supply of Raise III scrolls to stop the whining... I mean, ease my fellow white mages' pain.

Make Banish III, Banishga III, Dia III, etc.. player castable.

Oh yeah, Teleport-Ru'Aun and Teleport-Tavnazia would be good.

I thought I had heard plans for some kind of way to teleport to Tavnazia. But, of course, I can't go there yet, so it doesn't make a difference to me anyway.

And yes, bringing the Raise 3 scroll back from obscurity is seriously needed.

They added some kind of outpost warp to Tavnazia in the last update, but I believe you have to be on chapter 4 to make that supply run.

Huh? What's wrong with Astral Rings? I do BCNMs to get them all of the time.
