Yes like I said before, in exp parties it's quite useless.
But as you are fighting bigger things that take a long time to kill and alliance members are switched in and out of. (Wyrms, Dragons, Kirin and Kings) it is of a significant value.
As far as I could read in several SAM guides meditate does stack.
So in those situations the DD/sam in question stand outside the alliance and Meditate once, let it cool down Meditate a second time and send a /tell to the alliance leader with the TP status and that they are ready to WS/SC.

What's the timer on Meditate, 3 minutes? So you'll be useless for 6mins until you've done Meditate twice, huh? 6 minutes seems a bit much to just be standing around doing nothing *shrug*
In a fight that can take 2hours+ depending on the shell, 6 minutes doesn't seem like that big a deal, plus if you /really/ wanted to hurry it up, Meditated, change your neck piece out for opo-opo necklace, and sleep up some TP till you hit 100%, tell alliance leader, jump in, WS, jump out, sleep up some more TP, hit next meditate, repeat as needed. ^^

Just my two cents on the mage sub for Drg soloing. I've been very tempted to do /rdm. Fast-casting a Poison spell means a much faster HB. However, I try not to get too far in over my head. Conserve MP effectively boosts my over all MP potential far above what /Rdm can offer. Yes, I know it changes a 5mp spell into a 3mp sell rarely. But seeing as I can cast....oh.....30 of them? That conserve mp will activate often enough to give me 3-10 more castings. I find that to make /Blm a very worthwhile sub for the soloing Drg.
Some say /whm for poisona and other -na spells. Also for protect and such. While that is a good argument, I'll just munch on my Tav Tacos, {Thank you}.
I made Eviticus over a year ago with the sole goal of Dragoon. To this end, I have cut out everything unnessicary, and maximized anything I could to make me the best I can be. To date, I think the only bit of armor I have not gotten that I wish I had is the lvl 50 Gigas Bracelets, I'm 52 now. I just don't happen to have the 6M lying around for it.
I get +1 lances, I never gimp my SJ, I take out my calculator and figure out the exact haste bonus my jumps give me, and figure out TP gain with this food as opposed to that food. I'd perfer to think of myself as the example, not the follower. And yes, Sugami, Double Attack can activate on Jumps. A jump is figured like a normal attack, only it's window of damage is larger.
If a regular attack can do 90%-110% damage, Jumps can do 75%-125%. More often on the slightly higher end of that, I've noticed. So Jumps can have anything activate. Drain hp's, double attack, triple attack, crits, etc.
In the end, I'm just talking out of my ass. So take it all with a grain of salt.

Main problem with DRG/BLM is lack of Cures, after a tough few fights you'll be sitting down getting your HP back for ages. Maybe you don't mind going into fights with half HP but I'd always make sure I had full HP to start a new chain, Regen + Cure IIIs does the trick quite quickly.
I'm the 1st whm to get sea in my hnmls. We had to do 6-4 for last ls static member so we redid it and was 1/1 and had 7 secs left
Then we raced to ?????? and fought him and BOOM Sea

No, we didn't run in and have 12 BLM do aga tier 4 spells. We had a full ally~ NIN, and 2 PLD kept the hume, elvaan and galka busy while we blew up the taru and the mithra (which was sad...poor evil ark mithra sister). We turned our wrath on the galka. One of our PLD got sc'd to death...but we quickly took out the galka for murdering our friend! Managed to strike down the elvaan BEFORE she got her 2hr off *weeehooo*. The hume didn't have a shot after that.
special note: Mithra Pride Leviathan member Catzeyes was with me representing the power of Mithra Pride kitties yay!!!!

Drg 54 ding, can use AF Greaves which are pretty sweet for soloing. And an interesting story on G2...
So it's organized by a 55Thf Galka. He is able to get some help, but they back out, so I recruit a few endgame kitties. By few, I mean one. ^^; 75Mnk Lunaleska. Also I get a taru 75Rdm, Jellobiafra. Then the Thf gets another 2 70+ Rdm's We're a bit overpowered for this run, but who am I to complain?
Well, when I went to 5-1, we never got the Vahzl crystal. The Galka didn't have it either, so we had to run all the way there. After following someone who didn't know where they were going, we let someone else lead, and we get to the first critter. Boreal Coueral. The Mnk and Rdm's descend, and wipe it out. Quickly, the Thf and I hit the ??? and we run out. Success! On to the next one.
Thf: I didn't get a key item.
Evit: ....eh?
Mnk: Did you hit the ??? ?
Thf: I guess not
Party:
So we kill it again, he hits the point, and we run out again.
Thf: Wait, still no key item.
Evit: {/stagger}
Evit: Did you talk to Maat to start G2?
Thf: I talked to him.
Evit: Is 'Atop the Highest Mountain' in your Current Quests...?
Thf: ......*checks* No.
So after holding ourselves back from strangling him, he warps back to Sandy, and we get the rest of the items for me. Yay me, stupid galka. Later on in the day I attempt to solo, accidently choosing an AoE happy mob. I get rewarded with a death for my troubles.
In the end, I'm just talking out of my ass. So take it all with a grain of salt.

You could try and solo it, but you can also ask people if they need it.
It's considerably easier to go with a group instead of going alone in case someone agros one of them.
Soloing is also possible but in some places it might become a bit tricky.
