As long as windows picks it up as a gamepad it should work fine.

I stick with a wired 360 controller.

I tried running my 360 controller in Windows, but I ran into a driver issue and I haven't bothered to figure out where the problem is. After playing XI on the computer and on the X-Box, I like the keyboard way more.

Didn't have one problem. Went into Gamepad setup and re-macroed all the controller ports.

For the beta I used a PS2 controller hooked up through an adapter and that was fine. I normally use a 360 controller for XI, but the XIV beta wouldn't detect it, maybe because of my 3rd party drivers (not XBCD, some Japanese ones because XBCD wouldn't give force feedback on XI). I'm not sure if retail will fix that.

Again, i can't get my 360 controller to register on XIV using these, but they're great otherwise.

EDIT: No dice on those drivers. XBCD ones work though.

I'm using a PS3 controller, via MotionInJoy drivers. Works excellent for me

All except Sixaxis, which is just annoying in FFXIV.

AHAHAHAHA SixAxis... Wouldn't MOVE work better xD

I just configured my keyboard to make the game playable for me.
For some reason, if it's not a game console connected to my PC I don't like gamepads.
The only thing I will need to do later when I really get used to the game and have some "main jobs" is bind macros on my G keys.

I would hate to say it loving PS3 and hating Xbox... but I use a 360 controller :/
