Fubar'd Windows Update?!

So I've been blowing up this laptop 9 times already, when I go to windows update and do the high priority updates, the .NET Framework fails to install, and the media center patches destroy my ATI Raedon Widescreen drivers (To which the only way to recover them is to blow up the laptop and start again). I Told tech support I suspect something wrong with the windows update and I got "Our service doesn't have errors or bugs like that, it must be your hardware." Ya right. Meanwhile Windows Update continues to screw this laptop to heck.
I've got anti-virus, but no windows updates, because I am not daring enough to do it now, also, it wiped out my fecking Flash Player drivers too :O
