Blue Dragon made me want to replay FFXII

I don't know why, either. If anything, it should have made me want to replay Dragon Quest VIII but I'm getting ahead of myself.
So anyways, I got Blue Dragon and I played it for a few hours and I love it. Its easily my runner-up for Game of the Year only because of Mass Effect. So as I was playing it I thought "Hey, I should play FFXII again" so I grabbed my copy, popped it in the PS2 and after starting a new game I got sucked right back in. I'm at the part where you're on the floating island with the kid that spams potions and I'm supercharging my party by running them through the area in a giant circle. I totally wanna slaughter those guys that are trying to kill Balthier that you usually just run away from.
So anyways as I was playing I noticed things that made me wish I could play this game on my 360. Like, for example, when I play a game on my 360 and I want to see what time it is I hit the Guide button. Since I can't do that on PS2 I find I lose track of time easier. Also, I really miss being able to plug my iPod into the system and play my music through my stereo. Then there's achievements and the "(Friend) is online" pop-ups. Yeah, FFXII has Sky Pirate's Den but its just not the same.
Anyone else noticed this? How when you switch from one console to another (Especially newer to older) you miss the features the console you're on is lacking?
Oh, and don't get me started on the stick placement. I still find myself reaching for the stick where the D-pad is. It feels so unnatural having the sticks next to each other. Then again, when I get Mass Effect I'm gonna find the off-set sticks disorienting.
