Blue Dragon made me want to replay FFXII

I don't know why, either. If anything, it should have made me want to replay Dragon Quest VIII but I'm getting ahead of myself.

So anyways, I got Blue Dragon and I played it for a few hours and I love it. Its easily my runner-up for Game of the Year only because of Mass Effect. So as I was playing it I thought "Hey, I should play FFXII again" so I grabbed my copy, popped it in the PS2 and after starting a new game I got sucked right back in. I'm at the part where you're on the floating island with the kid that spams potions and I'm supercharging my party by running them through the area in a giant circle. I totally wanna slaughter those guys that are trying to kill Balthier that you usually just run away from.

So anyways as I was playing I noticed things that made me wish I could play this game on my 360. Like, for example, when I play a game on my 360 and I want to see what time it is I hit the Guide button. Since I can't do that on PS2 I find I lose track of time easier. Also, I really miss being able to plug my iPod into the system and play my music through my stereo. Then there's achievements and the "(Friend) is online" pop-ups. Yeah, FFXII has Sky Pirate's Den but its just not the same.

Anyone else noticed this? How when you switch from one console to another (Especially newer to older) you miss the features the console you're on is lacking?

Oh, and don't get me started on the stick placement. I still find myself reaching for the stick where the D-pad is. It feels so unnatural having the sticks next to each other. Then again, when I get Mass Effect I'm gonna find the off-set sticks disorienting.

<3 Blue Dragon, train your melee characters up on Assassin to get "Double Attack" and if they won't be Assassin main get them to use the Assassin's Agility trait, it kicks big butt!

Cool, thanks!

Right now I got the three starting characters in their opening roles and I'm just getting used to the game now. Unlocking things, seeing what stuff does. When I go back I'll probably restart.

The game did piss me off when it went from murderous to manageable after they got their shadows. I'm like "Damn it, why didn't you give me them sooner?" because I'd used up all my healing items by then.

P.S. I seriously cannot wait for the 20th. Mass Effect is going to be so cool and John Davidson from 1up Yours needs to quit going on about it and then saying "Oh, well I can't say too much because of the NDA."

British bastard's making the wait unbearable.

Wasn't that hard for me *shrug*

My characters were so uber at the end the penultimate boss didn't get a chance to attack me  and the final boss was pretty easy compared to previous ones :P

They added a super hard mode (Free) and a new dungeon for 400 points about a week ago.
