Since I think there's more to Pup then deserves a small mention in the already existing thread about the update, I'd like to share a few things here. Yes, yes, huzzah for 2-handers. Seeing what Drg can do now makes me kick myself that I can't afford the 1 M or so to buy back all my Drg gear and get Drg out of retirement. However, I do play Pup, and we recieved a few things.

All Pup's Auto skills were raised to A-.

The Valoredge has a better sword(well, slashing) skill then everyone but Pld(Not sure about Blu, it's not on the chart I see.)

The Sharpshot frame has an -equal- ranking skill with Rng's Archery.

And since the Auto only has one magic skill, I'll consider it's Enfeebling, Enhancing, Elemental, etc skills to all be at A-. In comparison, that's a higher ranking then -any job- gets in Enhancing, and it's -tied- with Drk and Blm in Dark Magic skill. And at 75, there is only a 7 skill difference between the Automaton and a Whm's Healing, Rdm's Enfeebling, and Blm's Elemental magic skills.

Hooolllyyyyy sh*t. Now if I could only grab a skill up pt to bridge the 30 something gap I have in skills now. >.>;

Congrats~ PUP has needed some love and I'm glad they finally got it

BLU has a sword skill of A- I believe, so the Automaton skill is probably anywhere from B thru A- skill.

8-27-08 Update? Evi's posting from the future!!!!

Alla's boards went nuts about an hour after the servers went back up because apparently they think 2H weapons are too powerful compared to the /NIN people.

I spent hours there reading the long, whiny posts and laughing so hard.

P.S. I'm kicking myself right now for spending all my IS on Imp. Gold Coins which I sold on AH. I want that Staff Strap so bad. Poor man's Hedgehog Bomb confirmed.

Right, right. >.> My bad on that. But no, ScarlettPheonix, the Valoredge's Melee combat skill is A- when using full Valoredge setup. If you have on the wrong head it drops to B+. Same goes for when you try to mix and match most frames, the main skill drops slightly.

I wasn't trying to argue with you or disagree. You just seemed unsure of where its slashing/sword skill fell compared to the other jobs who have sword skill, and I was just giving a range based on the information you had already given.
