I can't decide which is worse....the fact that so many americans DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY LIVE!!!!....or that she obviously has no idea how to respond to such a fact.

And as a Pizza delivery driver, I can tell you that MANY people have no clue where they live. They can give you directions as long as you know all the landmarks, but they can't give ya a street name for nothin. -.-

Looking at this makes me laugh.. seriously laugh extremely hard.

A little comfort in this, it's not just the US.
They did this test on tv a little while ago here in holland where mature people had to answer simple questions and calculations that are given to 10 year old kids in school normally.
You don't want to know how many people actually give the wrong answers...
The same with a tv program a few years ago that asked people that were on the Dam square in Amsterdam asking to point out several places on the map.
Not those hillbilly places nobody but the inhabitants ever heard of... but major cities like Washington, Tokyo, Amsterdam, London, etc...

An example:
When asked to point out NYC on the world map they pointed out a place somewhere in the middle east...
At least 75% was indeed like this.

Hurray for ignorance!

lolAmerica

If I was King of England, anyone who couldn't point out where it is on the globe/map would get deported to France :P

I know where I live, i just don't know the street names around this place. Seriously, I don't know the street name that my little "community" is based on. But I /do/ know the street I'm on.

MapQuest FTW

Then again, if it wasn't for these people Jay Leno's "Jay-Walking" routine wouldn't be very funny and "Are you smarter than a fifth grader?" wouldn't have any contestants.

Funniest thing I've ever heard was on Acts of Gord where a lady came into the shop complaining about how hard the video game version of Wheel of Fortune was and wanted to exchange it for a copy of Jeopardy!
