As previously related, I just massively upgraded my machine.

Including a full HD wipe and restore. Copied the POL folders to another HD, brought them back in, apparently did something wrong in the registry.

Installed and updated the POL viewer. Go to launch the game, get an unnumbered error msg.

"Unable to start Final Fantasy XI because the Beta test is installed. Please install the retail version."

Ummm.... help??

wth? o.O;;

Well, what I usually do is this.

Copy all folders off of main drive.

Install POL Viewer.
Install FFXI
Install RoZ
Install CoP
Install ToAU

exit all open install programs once finished

Copy old folders into new directory.

Start up POL and watch it do a File Check.

Bingo, done!

I have never ONCE even gotten that Beta thing tho. o.O;

Just uninstall FFXI and POL, delete the folder, and install again.

Update POL (that doesn't take long), log in, and before you go to sleep or work, update FFXI.

Its what I do.

May have to install it all from scratch, there goes the better half of a day :lol:

That might actually be the best idea,
yes the hours updating after sucks but you can do something else in the mean time and at least you'll have a clean fresh uncorrupted FFXI installed.

BTW your macros are in this folder:
C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\USER

I think the next try will be Kintrra's method.

It will only save me the download time.

It WILL get me back to Vanad'iel.
