(Confirmed) FFXI World Migration, will you move?

No official source yet (Neither the JP, US and EU site from POL/FFXI have info yet) but several forums have started talking about this service becoming available in July.

Server Migration Policy
- Will be implement during June / July this year.
- 3000 yen per account
- 90 days restriction

If this service is actually coming, are you moving?
(I myself am seriously considering moving but have no idea yet whatsoever to where I would.)

Maybe Midgar.
I'm not 100% sure though... and whats with the 90 day restriction? Does that mean I can only do it once every 90 days?

Yea means you can only move once every 90 days. SoE has had this service for years in Everquest, though its 6 months restriction and costs alot more. It is nice to see SE finally offering services like this, considering how much of a pita they made it to end up on the same server as your friends for years. I honestly think FFXI would have been alot more successful had they not made it such a huge pain for guilds that were looking to transfer over from other games. Not that FFXI was not a successful, just saying I bet they would have garnered a much larger player base, because honestly it still is overall one of the Best MMO's on the market right now even 5 years old.

i honestly dont know if i would move or not... i was a fence sitter when my one guild was torn in half due to the creation of servers before. server migration might just kill the few guilds i'm still a part of.
but then again, there are alot of people that still remember me in seraph... if i ever get back into ffxi before my characters get deleted

I certainly would not move. I am in with a really cool group of people and a lot of us are in contact with each other outside of the game as well... My semi-static buddy have been playing together for well over a year and a half.

I'm reasonable happy on Garuda, and I share the mule set with my alts. The melee kitty is in no way moving. So the Garuda me will not leave.
But I kept an alternate me on Midgard so I could play with the now long gone Midgard MP. As I hardly ever level there, and therefore have made no friends there, moving that me to a different server, where I know people? In a New York minute*.
*A New York minute, for those unfamiliar with that time unit, is composed of 60 N. Y. seconds. Those are based on the elapsed time, in New York City, between the light turning green and the horn honk from behind. Science has as yet failed to measure the New York second but it is believed to be less than 17 picoseconds.

I'm happy with Bahamut, if I wasn't I wouldn't pay to move my character though.

I'm content on my server (Leviathan) also.
On top of that I run a LS and I think several members would not be happy if I just up and moved & ditched them all.
That fee to move would deter me if I was pondering leaving.
