Priceless

Dropping your party's to rush to Aht urghan for Besiged - 100 mp (warp)
Buying food for acc+ - 13k
Taking out your AF from storage - 1k
Waiting for a lvl 7 besieged - 2 hours.
Doing besieged and then dying at the last second, while accepting a tractor which boots you, but then sprinting back to besiged and somehow making it back in, and dying AGAIN as your server wins...... F**King Priceless!!

I'll tell you whats priceless.
back when CoP got launched, me and Zev (
www.votm.deviantart.com) went on a trip to Bibiki Bay. And then went on the Manaclipper, almost got eaten alive by a 6hp/tick poison, and made it to Pur-etcetcetc- bay.
Well... we enjoyed ourself, and then I /checked a Opo-opo there. Only to find it was a T.
Yeah... some T that was.
We ended up getting our asses severely handed to us (To think. a MNK and WHM duo), I ended up dying, and Zev barely killed the damn thing. Only to die to a poison she didn't see get tossed onto her.
Opo-opos suck.

Opo-opos just suck, period. At any given level they always seem stronger than the level they con too.
Speaking of DoT deaths- had one last night. Party was fighting C. Mire via the Nzul Isle portal, fighting a combination of Imps and Soulflayers. We were fighting a soulflayer (last time I do
that- those floating Dr. Zoidbergs are more trouble then their worth imo ><) and I'd backed up to Convert which I really really needed to do. I didn't even have enough mp for Stoneskin /sigh.
Anyway- I thought I'd back up far enough, but apparently not. I'd just verted when the damned squid let out an AoE Bio/Blind move.
Thankfully, I had RR up so we really didn't lose any down time. The new merit feature that lets us switch between merits and exp is nice too I must say

You know what sucks? Let me tell you about my BCNM mishaps last week... Me and my friend Tyni decide to grab another dragoon and do Royal Jelly because he needs Utsusemi: Ni; he's a 75 RDM, my highest job is DRG so it seems like a good fit and it is...
we
{/random
} to see he goes first and I get the highest number. Wiped all the princess jellies with ease - never even got the queen jelly and we get the Ni on the first drop!

As well as scroll of Erase, a marksman's ring, a mana ring, a dusky staf as well as 2 slime oils and 1666 gil. Sweet haul! Especially since Ni is going for about 700k and Erase 80k. The dragoon passes on all the stuff as I am lotting... As I am doing this I send a /tell to my friend and I say "Jon, take the Ni." I pass on it. A couple seconds later he replies, "I passed... take it. I'll get it another time." Immediately after that, what rolls across the screen?:
"You do not qualify for the scroll of Utsusemi:Ni. The scroll of Utsusemi:Ni is lost."

Neat trick, although it sounds like you did not have the time for it. Boot and reinvite someone. Their pass will be wiped off the books when booted, they can lot again when they are back in.

Yeah, we figured that out eventually... on subsequent tries, with other DRGs we'd have them leave and come back into the zone so they can lot on, say, a mana ring that they've already passed on. Tyni and I both have one now that we use and they are EX, so we cannnot get any more... Although I am told that there is a delivery box trick you can do to get more than one EX item...
Eventually we got another scroll on one of my orbs and I gave it to him. But I am itching to go get another, just to sell...

Whoop-woop-woop!

Okay I've spotted 3 things you've done wrong here. Well two is pretty much the same thing.
1) Don't leave a party for Besieged, it's not worth it.
2) Don't buy food for Besieged, you'll die and lose it.
3) Don't start waiting for Besieged until it's Lv5 at the very least! (unless they're already advancing)

I turn down party invites for Besieged but never EVER do I abandon a party unless its a real emergency. Like the time my dad sliced open his thigh with a saw.
It was nasty and the f***ing ambulance took ten minutes to get there and (the worst part) the goddamn fire station is two blocks away!

I usually use some extra food I have in Besiged. In the last 3 (Lv6's) I haven't died once. If you find yourself some cheap meat and stock up on acc gear, that might serve you well. Be sure to have some damage mitigation though, otherwise you -will- eat dirt. (Super Jump to avoid taking too much hate from constant Wheeling Thrusts is a god send.)

Troll Lv7 I started off with;
300% Wheeling Thrust -> Wing -> Impulse Drive = Gravitation and died shortly after
My quickest death in the history of Besieged

I usually watch my HP and run away when it gets low, especially if Besieged has been going on for a while. Don't want to die just as they retreat
Only real point of food is to increase your accuracy since that's really the biggest issue, especially if you're not 75 with merits

lets see...
1,000 gil - pulling my af out of storage
1 imperial bronze piece - to get access to my locker that i forgot i left my hobo suit in.
268 gil - rent a chocobo to head to Carpenter's Landing
Dying twice to kill a monster for a mission after only getting it to 3% and waiting for an hour each time to see if anyone will raise me. Priceless.
I freaking hate Overgrown Ivy... in theory my SMN shoulda had that fight but no... it had to bind carby in place Bad Breath and then chase after me when i almost got it killed. 3 stinking percent left... >.<

What the hell kinda server you got on Bahamut? On Phoenix the lag is so bad during Besieged that when I die its like one minute I'm standing there healing people then the game lags then next thing I know, I'm dead. If I'm lucky I'm able to pop off a potion or run before I die which is why I am a loyal user of Reraise.

Get a better computer
I don't usually drop 1K+ HP in one go unless a NIN does Mijen Gakure(sp?).

I'm on 360 and with my standard WHM gear I'm lucky to have 700HP.

Something I still have to try:
TP up with dagger > Poison Nails > Wasp Sting => Distortion > Equip Staff > Wing > Retribution => Darkness.

Heh, I've tried to do this myself with Great Sword. Spinning Slash > Wing > Ground Strike = Distortion. Suffice to say between the lag and unseen people throwing WSs in the middle of me doing this, I've yet to succeed.

Raging Rush > Wing > Raging Rush = Teh Ultimate Self SC! Not Even sam Can top that damage, We basically can drop Maat to near 20 percent, while sam has to use 4 or 5 ws to reduce him that far

Last one I had 300% Steel Cyclone + Berserk + Aggressor + Warcry + Hasso + Mighty Strikes + all those new potions they give you but wasn't able to break 1200 D:
I forgot to use the immunity from physical damage one and died shortly after
Incidentally 300% Steel Cyclone Might Strikes hit for 1515 on an Imp in the Mire

I just need Warrior's Charge ontop of that
3-step SC is garanteed to be broken unless you find a mob no one else is attacking, but then you'll suffer a quick death
