I mean my b/f's nuts, wtf do I want Gundam Seed Manga's for? I hate the manga's so much for that show.

Lol, I don't like Gundam that much...but Bleach is a different matter. I got the most bad ass hoodie on the planet: a bleach hoodie with Ichigo on the back! Whoo! Oh, and a Kaoru plushie from my dearest sister! Can't get better than that!

I managed to almost totally avoid Xmas.
I only heard a Xmas carol in one store once.
No cards, presents, or long "what we did for the last year" letters.
I stayed sane and easy to live with.
My seasonal depression is almost unnoticeable.
By my standards a very good Christmas season.

*jealous*
I was in the AF, all I ever got was to fire a stupid M16. Of course it did not help that my job was to be stowed away in a bunker every day "maintaining" Weapons we will likely never use...
Two boxes of Ritz and no Cheese? The Horror!

O.O Well Air Force people dont really get to the front lines much... The Air Force people that are out here dont even have M16's, they only carry 9mm pistols.
Tell you what though nothing relieves a year's worth of deployment stress like blowing up a bunch of stuff
I like Ritz Crackers though, even though they were crushed

Bit hard to fit an M16 in a fighter jet?

Posted: Tue Jan 02, 2007 2:54 pm
by ScarlettPheonix
Nah, bit hard for an Arm chair Ranger to handle the 8 lbs+ of a fully loaded M16 and be expected to shoot correctly.
True story:
I was stationed in Monetery, Cali. It was a joint post, so all the branches were there as well. Every month the post CO had a race, called the Commander's cup that all the units competed for.
My unit was running in formation from our barracks to the to the track where the race was going to be held. As we were appoaching the AF barracks, the resident AF Wing came out at a march from their assebly area. After they got all shook down into a pretty formation and the Wing CO called "Double-Time, March!" (the command to start running)
our 1SG called for us to go to a quick-time and then normal march.
We were on the Wings heels all the way to the track- us walking, them "running" the entire time.

The fitness test to join is a joke- its mostly a physical exam. After their basic training the AF PT test was nothing more then them riding a bike for a few minutes to get their heart rate up while I was in. It's since been changed to something closer to the Navy Physical Fitness Test but even that is a bit of a joke.
The Army PT test is about 2x as hard as the Navy's and the Marine's PT test is even harder if you're not conditioned for it.
THe Army test is:
2 mins of push-ups and you have to reach a minumum standard. For me, when I left I had to do 17 full push ups in 2 mins. My husband has to do 40 in 2mins.
2 mins of sit ups- same deal as push ups. The minimum to pass was 50 in two minutes for my age group.
2 mile run for time. I had to run it in 18 mins to pass when I left.
I can't remember all the details of the Marine's test- but I do know they have to run 3miles for time. Kessa can probably fill in the details I'm forgetting there.

Better than what did you get is what did you give. ^.^
Got my younger bro a media cell phone with a 2 gig memory chip. After the rebate, it cost me less than a 2 gig iPod would have cost and it doubles as a video camera, mp3 player, gps locater, web browser, etc. He's still flipping out about it. "The gift that keeps on giving!" he says.
For my 2 older brothers' kids, I took them to
http://www.medievaltimes.com/
I was impressed. It really was as good as the commercial makes it out to be! XD
Everyone else got books or CDs from me this year... 'cause I work in a bookstore.

Ya, of the two I like this one best, but generally prefer not to chat about either -- not being worthy of the gifts I get and generally overspending on what I give. Here's a fun one, though.
I got a square dog. Yep, not a typo. A square dog.
Story behind it starts a couple months ago. I told one of my dreams to my brother:
I was sleeping on cool grass in a park. It was a nice peaceful sleep until something started licking my face. I woke up. There was this THING on my chest with EYES staring at mine and licking me. WTF!! It's a dog. It's SQUARE. Well, oblong like a loaf of bread with paws. Square body. Square head. Flat face. Short fur like a chocolate labrador. A puppy, really. It was very cute, too.
Uh oh. The kids noticed it. "I wanna square dog!" "Please, please, get me a square dog!" Never mind that I don't have kids and don't even babysit for any of my friends (ever), for some reason in the dream these kids were my responsibility. The owner looking down at me (who I hadn't noticed before) says "You better order yours quick. Limitted edition. Only 250 made." At this point I'm standing and holding this squirming dog-loaf away from my face. It's still trying to lick me. I'm just staring at this guy in amazment.
All I can remember thinking is "this is not happening, this is not real, those are not my kids." Damn thing is still kicking and squirming and licking away at hands and air. It's still square.
Anyway, my brother crafted up a square dog out of felt and styrofoam and such and gave it to me in a critter gift-box -- you know, one of those ultra-scary gift-boxes with air holes for the creature inside to breath. Gotta be one of the funniest damn gifts I ever got. ^^
