Who's lying about the Wii: Game sites or stores?

So according to 1up.com and IGN.com and more than a few other gaming sites there's supposed to be way more than enough Wii's available at launch and Nintendo's supposed to be able to make more than enough should they run out.

According to EB Games and GameStop (Who just happen to be releasing a "Wii bundle pack" on Thursday) there will only be enough Wii's and copies of Twilight Princess at launch to supply those who pre-ordered on the 13th.

My question to you is: Who do you trust? I think EB/GameStop was counting on there being a limited supply of Wii's and is hoping that those who want one are dumb enough to only pay attention to their site. After all, my roommate went to EB the night GRAW on 360 came out and was told that that EB ran out and wouldn't get any more in for at least a week but then when we went to Best Buy and Wal-Mart they had tons of copies.

Same with Final Fantasy XII. The location that I pre-ordered the regular version at ran out of those but they had plenty of the "Limited edition" $60 version (They still do if you don't feel like hassling eBay  ) but Wal-Mart had at least 50 copies of the regular edition and had them on sale for $35!

I hope this is another situation where it's all corporate BS about pre-ordering because I really don't feel like spending a Sunday driving all over the greater Sacramento area looking for a Wii.

Quite frankly my dear, I don't give a damn.

Nintendo screwed it up with DS Lite, I preordered mine from a HK based shop that gets their supplies direct from Japan and I still had a 1-2 month wait after the official release date.

I think both are mostly true.

EB/Gamestop only gets a certain alottment, that for them is sold out so as far as they are concerned supplies are extremely limited. It is all a matter of how you spin it. Zelda however does appear to be sold out everywhere.

As for me I am in debate, One part of me wants the supply to run out so I can sell my wii on ebay, the other part of me does want one, but the problem is I hate white and want it in black.... :( I am so torn...But while I am making said decision I have a wii, Zelda and nearly every other launch game on preorder so I do have my choice at least. If the Blasted thing was Black like it was the ENTIRE Damn time they touted it as the revolution I would have kept it without a problem..but Noo they have to go and copy Fing MS and Apple with the Craptastic white... :x

My friend got an email today, his Wii won't be delivered when play.com get their stock because they don't have enough. He ordered 1 week after Play.com were accepting pre-orders.

There aren't enough Wiis.

All your Wii are belong to us.

Yea waiting 1 hour for a preorder like this is vastly too long, much less 1 week. I hope he did not honestly expect that he would get one that way.

As a note check your local Target, Most Target stores are reporting they will be receiving anywhere from 30 to 60 Wii's on Launch Day. We will know in two weeks if that is true or not.

I can't see there being a prolonged shortage of Wii's if there is a sellout at launch.

Not like the PS3.

I am skeptical, if they have enough and can supply through christmas they will have accomplished what neither Sony or MS could not do and what they failed to do with the DS.

My memory is a little fuzzy but I am pretty sure I recall nintendo stating that supplies for the DS would not be an issue either.....We all see how that turned.

OK, so now I got an email, I won't get my Wii on launch, although they THINK I'll get it before Christmas. -_-

Note: My friend who ordered on the first day of pre-orders isn't getting his Wii on launch. Nintendo have fscked things up mondo.

Yeah, the launch is screwed but Nintendo can recover with a quick and plentiful replenishment, which is something Sony cannot do.

At least when you guys pre-order something, the company will hold one for you and either give you a call saying its there, or outright telling you, that you cant pre-order it. In Okinwa, you can Pre-Order, and unless you go there yourself, they won't call you. Not to mention, unless your there first, they WILL SELL your pre-ordered copy. Meaning that its just best to wait... Yeah Ill' be seeing the Wii's in the next month or two if im lucky.

As for Nintendo lying or not or the whole scam or scandle goin I all I say is, just wait for the thing to come out on the shelf, if they have it there, they have it, if they don't Just wait. Be happy you can even afford one. I know some people that cant.

Yeah, there was a local comedy troupe that did a skit where this ancient demon needed to be resurrected by the blood of a virgin and the joke was that the demon was in LA

Their "COPS" parody "Librarians" was way funnier, though.

They also had the "Two guys looking for an unsigned band in Seattle circa 1993" skit which is hilarious because of the homeless guy, the mom, and the infant who all had record contracts and the "Reabok Cross Dresser" the athletic shoe designed for transvestites
