BILOXI, Miss. - Leann Real promised her husband, an avid sports fan, that if they ever had a son he'd get to pick the name. ESPN Montana Real was born this week at Biloxi Regional Medical Center.

Rusty Real, of D'Iberville, chose ESPN (pronounced Espen) after the sports network and Montana after football legend Joe Montana.

Baby ESPN isn't alone.

Three others were cited in a 2005 report on tivocommunity.com about the network's 25th anniversary. They are Espn Malachi McCall in Pampa, Texas; Espn Curiel in Corpus Christi, Texas; and Espn Blondeel in Michigan.

"We were the talk of the hospital," Rusty Real said. "The nurses kept asking my wife if she was really going to let her husband name him ESPN. She said, 'Oh, yes.'"
If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go kick-start armageddon.

It would be even more tragic if the kid grew up to be a band geek.

What's more ridiculous, this name, or what Frank Zappa named one of his kids: Moon Unit?

Dweezle is lots worse than Moon-Unit (Zappa's other kid). Moon is at least a decent nickname. What do you call ESPN for short? Anyway, no worries about future generations there. Daddy will probably spike him doing a victory dance when his fav football team scores.

Espen = Real name
ESPN = Accronym

Besides the father admitted to nameing the child after the network.

I recently heard from my mom, which is a school teacher, of a child's name, spelled, "Shithead". It was pronounced weirdly, so it doesnt sound like that.

In honor of the best show on TV, Arrested Development, I am naming my first-born Analrapist. (Pronounced An-al-rah-pist)

You should see some of the names that the early hippies gave their kids. The better ones named their boys after trees and their girls after flowers. The worse wones....

Oh... wait a minute, those are your and your friend's PARENTS!!! :oops: :oops:

:lol: :rofl: :rofl: :lol:

For those unaware of the joke here it is: In "Arrested Development" one of the characters is an Analyst and Therapist so to save space on his business card he combined the names into "Analrapist."

As for "Hippie names" my roommate's fiancee's name is Serenity Ocean Rain. I kid you not.

Does anyone else notice the irony that apparently Keavy to wants to name his kid Analrapest, and doent like Espn, even though it is a different spelling of a real name? :? :lol: :lol:
