This news is a few months old, but since no one said anything about it...

It looks like SE finally decided that instead of making effeminate main charcters in Final Fantasy, they would just make their main character female to begin with. (Not counting FFX-2 of course.) Still, I didn't immediately realize it when I first saw only the close up of her face.

She wouldn't be the first main female character in an FF game though.

Still, rather boyish and hard to tell immediately.

I would think androgynous would better describe the platform FF heros better than effeminate.

I think the first is Terra (FFVI). I could be wrong, I didn't pay much attention when my brother played II, III, and V.

You're right, I forgot about that. But then the way FFVI played out made it more like there were several characters in the main role.

Anyone else think the second and third pictures among those three from "FFXIII" look more like Yuna from FFX-2? ....FFX-3 maybe? >.<

Acualy Terra and Celes where both the main charaters

Terra=world of Balance
Celes=world of ruin

no if it was FFX-3 then they would call it that, its a new story with all new charaters.

I dunno after FFVII or VIII all the characters seem to look the same now

Nah. Cloud, Squall, and Tidus were all very similar in appearance, but Zidane was completely different.

Cloud and Squall were based off of Gackt very, very heavily.

Gackt is a japanese singer who used to be in a band called Malice Mizer I think, then he went solo. He looks alot like Squall does, and to a certain extent Cloud.

I think it mentions that in the article on the first link along with something about FFXIII being online play with offline play.
