When should I buy ToAU

Anyways, when should I decide on getting that. Seeing as people have already gone off and hit 75 with soem jobs already XD.

If you want to unlock BLU, COR, or PUP buy it then. Otherwise, people start EXPing there at the mid 50s, so right after you do LB2.

You should definitely get it when you are around level 58 or so because around that level people start EXPing in Aht Urhgan, a lot.
It's really annoying when you have to turn down almost all party invites because you don't have access to those camps.

Before my PS2 died (April 2005) I had an LS mate who whined to us that he had to turn down parties because he didn't have CoP and no one wanted to XP in the non-CoP areas and how his stepdad wouldn't let him get the expansion pack unless he quit the game for two months.

So what we (The kind, caring LS we are) did was send him 20 gil each.

It was our leader's idea and it was funny as hell.

Why is FFXI for the PS2 being discontinued? Is it the cause of the 360?

We don't know that it is yet, but we kinda hope so as there are graphic limations inposed by this now weakest link.

For instance take something as simple as hair color changes. They cite the PS2 as to why they can't implement this.

I wouldn't say they can't do it because of PS2. They stated in the past that because of PS2 they cannot put new armor models in the game, but every new expansion always brings a bunch of new models.
My guess is PS2 makes it harder to do it, not impossible.

PS2 is definately not going to be discontinued. It was the system FFXI was originaly meant for and the majority of their Japanese players uses this system to play it.
