"IS THE U EGG GOOD?"
From around the time of last year's easter egg event. I had a screenshot at some point, but I think I lost it in my last format.

Me: Chaos Roll -> Attack Bonus
*Sugami uses Chaos Roll blar blar blar
Moron: What does Chaos roll do?
Me: Read the macro >.>
Noob: Why don't you use exp roll?
Me: Noob Roll {No, Thanks.} You're not a noob are you?
Noob: Why is increasing exp being a noob when it levels you faster?
* Sugami sighs dejectively.
Seriously, next person that asks me for Corsair's Roll I'm going to MPK!
Can't think of any others off hand

Could you explain why you don't use Corsair's Roll for someone who has never leveled COR or partied with one?

corsair roll gives a MINOR boost to exp that is only truely useful in lower levels. rolls like Fighter's Roll (which gives everybody double attack, and makes warriors look like thier dual weilding Krakenclubs) and Rogues roll (which makes Critical hits MUCH more likely) for the melee and Healer's Roll (which increases MP while resting) and Evoker's Roll (which is a Refresh-ga) for the mages are MUCH more useful for fighting than a minor boost to EXP.
for my own noooooooobish experiecnes.
-Warrior in Valkurm Dunes didn't know what Provoke was.
-Paladin in Valkurm dunes refused to heal himself because he was saving MP to burst Fusion with Banish.
-Warrior in Valkurm Dunes using Sole Sushi.
-Monk in Valkurm Dunes not knowing what Boost Did.
-Thief in Qufim not knowing that Worms aggroed
-Ranger in Qufim not knowing that Pugils link
-Dark Knight's everywhere quoting papa roach when using Last Resort
-Ranger in Crawler's nest not knowing that Exoray's aggroed.
-Same ranger as before in CN not knowing that flies linked.
-WHM in Garbage Shitadel (underneath) not knowing that undead aggro low MP.
-New person in Sky walking around on the 3rd level and going "What's a 'Faust'?" and then running back to the LS which wasn't in any way shape or form ready for it even after we'd told him to die in a safe place.
-White Mage Curing said new person causing Faust to aggro Her.
-Paladin Provoking faust, causing him to aggro the alliance.
-White mage Reraising before faust had cleared the room after we wiped.

Corsair's Roll is like... ~20% increase if you hit XI, which can add a decent amount to a 200+exp chain, even more when you've got an EXP band activated. When I leveled up COR, people always asked for it and I did give it to them, I just always only used it near the end of fights and kept stuff like Chaos Roll and Hunter's Roll active.

The EXP bonus from Corsair's Roll is really quite pathetic unless you land lucky or XI and yes it does add up nicely with exp ring but it also makes the fights last longer than if you were using a more useful rolls.
Ontop of which when you get party division, the AoE is smaller than a BRD's so only the melee would get it and you yourself won't have it on all the time either. Thus making the melee level faster than everyone else which seems somewhat retarded to me.
Only use it for burn parties (too low for them atm) and when being PL'd.

I once met someone who thought the crag was a monster.
I saw this /shout in Valkurm:
any1 got a boomerang 4 sale?
any1 got a boomerang 4 sale? i will buy
u sux sell me boomerang
One day, I was sitting in Jeuno when a 30ish RDM randomly asks me for gil. She says she spent it all on avatar fights, but needed to buy a Centurion's Sword. I remember seeing this person around; her bazaar comment used to say that all her equipment was "donated." I /checked her and saw that it said something different now. I replied, "I suppose so. I want to help, but I don't want you to learn to rely on handouts. I learned that when I was new, and I regret it." Because of this, I wasn't sure if I should give her gil. I couldn't say no, though. It's times like this (and random "lol pl me plz" requests) that make me think I'm too nice.
I gave her a bit of spare gil, around 30k if I remember right, but I also gave her something more important: I taught her how to make her own gil. I also gave her advice on equipment and avatar fights. She told me I was one of the only ones who'd ever helped her. People usually said to "go away and stop bugging me," to put it mildly. That made me sad. I'd always thought of people as naturally helpful.
I saw her again recently. She hadn't gained any levels, but her gear was much better. Every slot filled, with gear that mostly made sense. I wondered if she'd beaten those avatar fights, but I was too shy to ask. This is why I don't give up on "lol gil plz" people; n00bs, as they're often called. I'll tell you the truth: I'm a recovered noob. I used to be a RDM20-something/THF4. I begged for gil all the time; to my linkshell, my party, and sometimes even in /shout. As I said before, I learned to rely on handouts... and I regret it. Some people gave up on me, but others didn't. It is thanks to those people that I'm no longer a noob.

Me: Lookout, he's going nuclear {Convert}
Whm: Cure V on ~> Agentblack
Me: Let this {Refresh}ing breeze restore my mana.
Whm: Okay, now use convert again so I can cure you.
Me: ... Its a 10 minute timer.
Whm: No its not, its only 20 secs.
Me: How are you going to tell me that. Im looking at the timer right now.
Whm: its only 20 secs. Im a lvl 75 Rdm.
Me: Yeahh... Right...
As for helping people in game, Im way too nice. Even though I know Ill have to travel a super long distance, Ill still get off my Chocobo and raise people. I'll clear that annoying cave in Valkurm whenever I get the chance, and even PL peole in the dunes when I see thier obviously struggling and are too shy to ask for help. I'm always taking people to the Assualt area for mission 2 (The only one I know, which is in Halvung)
and I help people unlock BLU. Not corsair because I myself don't have it unlocked and Can't get any people to help. But yeah, I'll always be there to help people out. Red Mage FTW!!!

Ugh, don't get me started on COR. Its with Ranger on my list of least favorite jobs to play.
For me, basically any melee job is on that list. Actually, the only jobs I like to play as are WHM, BLM, RDM, Bard, Summoner, and BLU.

Heh. I don't mind lvling Rdm or Blm. Whm i find Mind nummingly boring so that job is staying at lvl 8. Bard seems like it would be a fun class, but from what I have heard, Bard really cant solo very well. That and the fact that bard is way more useful in a party that rdm will ever be. It kinda sucks because bard is way easier to play than rdm, yet Im sure brds are wanted more. At any rate, I think I might rather enjoy the THF job as well. I realy want to get it to lvl 15 so I can use a gun for once. I mean ive played FFXI for almost a full year now, and Still I havent used a friggin gun yet. How sad.

As an example of how desired bards are: I've got a character with no subjob. Never bothered doing the quest. At BRD27 I've gotten invites without seeking.
BRD is mind-numbingly boring up until level 25, then it turns into frustration because the party wants you to do 5 different things and won't spread out enough to keep the mage and melee songs from going on the wrong people. It probably gets worse for the next 10 levels or so, but eventually people figure out how to work it without having it explained to them every 5 minutes (Much like SATA education)
Soloing as BRD was a pain after level 5, I'd imagine it's virtually impossible above 10. But that's ok, since you're virtually guarranteed a party any time you have the whim to go XP.

I find healing so mind numbingly boring so my WHM is still lv1. I think BRD would be just as boring, all you're doing is running back and forward doing the same crap over and over again.
No sub BRD? Won't get you that far, need to be able to toss in a cure in emergencies further down the line. /RDM is gimp but heck they'll still get invites.
I don't give people money, only encouraging laziness really. Nothing in life is free, that goes for digital life too. If a poor nubby wanted help getting to Mhaura or however that's spelt then that's a different matter.
Also all 3 new job quests can be easily solo'd if you avoid agro.

There is a world of difference between the avarage person coasting to 75 with BRD and a GOOD BRD. The best bard I ever worked was also the best puller I have ever worked with. And my melee kitty is an expert puller.
BRD brings next mob to camp, sleeps it, sings Refresh on the mages. Melees finish last mob, BRD sings DoT on new mob, the apropriate songs on the Melees, goes out to pull again. Somewhere during this the BLM, PLD, RNG, and maybe others will get Etudes.
OK, this is a bit repetive, but so is Debuff, Debuff, Refresh X3.
Actually, BRDs can solo, but if you think it takes RDMs a long time to solo kill anything, BRDs solo take forever.

Yeah I've had a BRD tell me the most fun part is the pulling and I gotta love their insane pulling skills but that doesn't come until a fair bit later into the game.
RDM I get bored after an hour or two but at least I have MBs (I like to surprise people who think we can't dish out a nice bit of damage) and every 2hrs Chainspell nuking is the real fun
Dunno why I find DRG more fun to play of RDM, there's a lot less to do but it must be seeing nice numbers every so often and trying to beat my personal best for WS and Jumps (also showing those ignorant masses how good DRG can be).
