Red Mage, White Mage, Black Mage, Bard, and Paladin are ones I know off the top of my head.

RNG and SMN are high demand for promys, as are NIN or WAR/NIN.

Rng, Smn, War/nin. Period, end of sentance.

You asked for the most wanted jobs, not necissarily the only jobs. Whm would be 4th. If it's a 6 man pt, expect the following. 2 War/Nin, Whm, (2 Smn, 2 Rng, or one of both.) And either a Rdm or a Blm. That's more for Promy though, as Dymanis and Garrison take more then a 6 man pt.

Note, on all 3, every job is valuable and has it's place. But not every job is first picked.

Edit: 700th post.

Prommy for lv30: SMN wanted the most for Astral Flow, if choose right one it takes off a good 25% of the boss's life. WHM are essential. RNG make decent DDs after SMN then after that BLM. WAR/NINx2 are best for tanking.

Prommy lv40 (Aquaducts): NINs take over the tanking job, need them to backwards tank the doom mobs. There isn't a limit on how many people you can take in and RDM gets Raise so can finally use it as another Healer I guess. BST are really good in this area too.

Rivine Site #A01 (40 cap): NINx3, WHM, BLM, DD is probably best setup.
Can probably replace the DD for RDM for some extra safety.

That's as far as I've got in Prommy :P

Garrison all jobs are good I guess but people don't really do them.

Dynamis the "important" jobs are: tanks (think both are equally good), a WHM and RDM for each party, buttloads of BLM! DDs just speed up the killing process, they are needed to clear but without enough BLM and tanks you can't really have a Dynamis.

Every Promie party has one WHM. There may be two WAR/NINs, SMNs or RNGs, but there WILL be a WHM. BLMs are often chosen too. SAM/WAR or /RNG does quite well in Promies, but is hardly ever chosen BTW. I can't say anything about past the first three promies, I was with an alliance for the Aquducts.

RDM is a highly sought after job for Dynamiss.

Everything is usefull in Garrisons.

What lvl is Dynamis? 70+ right?

65+

But 75 is preferable if you don't want gimp nukes/meele damage.

Dynamis

65+ Mages
70+ Melee

Many Dynamis LS' I know of require ur job be able to equip AF before you can lot on it, otherwise ur on the "waiting list".

Most jobs are useful for Dynamis though. All mages jobs for statues and debuffing and removing status effects as well as sleeping masses of mobs and curing the melee. Melee are in much need as much as mages, due to the Vanguard mobs fall easy to melee might, as the statues on the other hand fall easiest to magic.

Dynamis is alot better I feel than HNM LS' for the simple fact that almost every job is useful there while as with HNM LS' have this idea that 90% of melee jobs are useless and most of the time only mage jobs are ever in need by these types of LS'.

SE made a major mistake by making most of end game events weak to magic or necessitating that mage jobs are used. That places a major disadvantage for those of us who love playing our melee jobs and getting to take a back seat to mage jobs.

~end rant~ :P

I totaly agree on that,

most HNM shells are like "Hmmm a big mob let's throw an army of blms at it"
Wyrms on the other hand (Vrtra,Jormungand,Tiamat) have high magic resists and melee are wanted for that.
However most big LS' throw an army of summoners at those.

As for Dynamis, yes every job has a use there however there are manaburn Dynamis LS' on the rise...

Ok enough with the endgame talk.

With the new Xbox players you can indeed look up on Garrison events.
It's actually pretty fun to do and even from the high levels there are a few pokable for that I asume.

As for Promies, you can have an uberparty throwing might at those and still lose when you come unprepared.
Promies are no joke to a new player and can wipe you out when you're unprepared for it.
I can write for hours more and write a complete guide on them but there has been someone before me with an awesome guide to study for the entire CoP expansion.
This guide has good recommendations and tips without going into the storyline and partysetups, but it has enough information to make up your own strategy.

Really if you are serious about doing CoP study this well, this guide has helped me get through CoP almost 1/1 on every mission.

Well actually you can go into Dynamis at 60, just no one will take you into a Dynamis LS at 60.

65 is the lower limit for mages with some LSs prefering higher. Some will take Melees at 68. All have different rules as to who can lot on AF. Some have a seniority system, Some a point system, some open lot, some 72 & up but if no one that level needs the piece lower levels can lot on it. Almost all insist on not lotting on pieces for a job you are not wearing.

Um...hate to burst your bubble there Tsybil, but it's 65 minimum for Dyna, you can't get the necessary cutscene for Dyna entrance till you go to Xarcabard as a 65+ job. ^^;;;

Well I gotta lvl a job thats a nice break from rdm. I decided to take RDM to 60 for my level cap. (G3 can wait) Get all my AF and then retire my RDM for a good month or two. After all, I have been playing as a mage for over 11 months. I need to try a melee class for once.

I thought you only need to get the cutscene after defeating Shadow Lord, didn't realise there was a level limit o_O

My LS lets all into dynamis that are 65+, we work on a points system so whoever has highest amount of points gets the AF (if draw then those people lot). Can't get AF unless 70+ but you get double points for attentance (usually only one point).
I have -2 points atm :D AF2x2 (-6) + attendancex4 (4) = -2 yay.
Was handy being the only DRG in those dynamis runs but I have to compete with this nubbie DRG now grr :x

Could have sworrrn it was 60 when you get the CS. Ah well shouldn't swear anyway.
