::Rant:: beggers

I like to keep my current crafting levels updated and on display using my Bazaar comment box. Sometimes they draw comments, people complementing me and such. But sometimes I get the wrong type of attention. People look at my skill level, assume I must be loaded, and immediately start trying to get "hand-outs" out of me. Very few times I'll actually give something out, like one guy needed 5k for a Tenshodo Invite once, so I donated to a good cause, things like that. Now, I'm not what you would call "stingy". I give gil to and even make things for friends from time to time.
Usually it just makes me angry that people in-game have the nerve to beg for money just because I "might" be rich based on my gear or craft skills. The money and skill I have I worked hard for. I learned everything on my own through trial and error and researched many ways to make money and craft on my own as well. I tried just about everything, including gardening, before finding my niche. I didn't do anything halfway either, so it took a while, but I eventually gave up my other schemes, kicked cooking to the side as a cheap and low return craft, and decided to try real crafting in the form of Clothcraft.
At my current skill level and with my sub crafts I can make a decent income without having to do much work, its true, but using my crafts to complement farming works so much better for me. So the truth is, even though I'm slowly becoming a true high level crafter, I still work for my gil. I don't work as hard as I did leading up to now and I make several times more money, but it was a huge investment to get to this point and even now 80-90% of my profits go right back to crafting.
So the big question is: Why after I worked so hard to have what I have, should I give anything to money grubbing little trolls? I guess these are the same people that are likely to support the gil sellers, but even then, there's got to be some reason why they're predisposed to even ask/beg in the first place. If I had to guess I'd say these people are probably the same way irl too. Greedy, selfish, good for nothing... Stop me if I'm being too harsh, but those who refuse to work or even put in the effort, I resent them. I'm more inclined to give 1 gil and say not to spend it all in one place.
