Blind Guardian's album "The Silmarillion" is much better IMHO. See if you can dig up the song from them, "Time stands still at the Iron Hill"

The Silmarillion is also the name of a book by J.R. Tolkien describing a lot of stuff from the world of The Hobbit and LoTR <.<;

I think the album Prrsha is thinking of is called "nightfall in middle earth"... and is based upon the Silmarillion. Power metal and LOTR go hand-in-hand.

Pretty good, and made even better by the inclusion of horses.
Thanks.
/wonders if one could train a horse to handle the percusion part....

They do? Hehe, okay

(Power) Metal is awesome nonetheless and is a pretty good medium for story telling

Nightwish did a song including LOTR themes named "Elvenpath"
Here's a sample:
http://www.nightwish.com/files/elvenpath-hi.mp3
(Couldn't find the entire song, but I didn't look very hard.)
From the lyrics:
(Long ago,
In the early years of the second age,
The great elven-smiths forged the Rings of Power.)
...
(But then the dark lord learned the craft of ring-making,
And made the Master Ring.)

I like the song, but not the video. I can't insult a song that has a violin in it.
