LOL I hate mage jobs, I find them super boring. Don't get me wrong, i love having them in parties, just not my cup of tea.

Wow, so many choices, only one vote.

Personally I love the whole RDM job. Staying busy doing everything is FUN. Any piece alone... meh. Now if only more people would let me melee while I do all the rest I would be a verrry happy kitty.

But I have other characters with other jobs.

As my Elvaan PLD, there is nothing like the feeling you get when you KNOW you have the mobs hate focused on you alone. And you do know when that happens.

As my Mithra SAM, I love Skillcahining. Occasionally I get a party that can keep up with me, but most often I don't. /sigh

My Hume THF is the least developed, only 26, I can't yet SATA, but SA/Combo just rules. SA/Fast Blade is fun, and with the Federation Knife, I just SA, and Gust slash for Skillchains. MUST GET VIPERBITE.

Being a dedicated healer was only interesting when I leveled my Elvaan to WHM 25. MP management was what made it so I think. As myself, I find WHM to be an OK and easy role to fill.

BLM is easy. Therefore, for me, no chalenge. But I always get to Magic Burst, and that is fun. As RDM, I am too often doing something else when the window opens.

The single task that is the most fun is pulling. Thank goodness I have two characters who can be pullers. I only get to pull as RDM in Manaburn parties. I hardly ever get those however.

Looking this over, I guess my short attention span shows.

Bah, forget you all, your butts wouldn't be avoiding damage long enough to be healed by the WHM if it wasn't for me. Mithra PLD>all other tanks. ^^

I logon for the slaughter, straight out DDing is my game as a DRK

..maybe a side of SATA from the THF sub.

..aswell as some enfeebles/debuffs from DRK spells.

i myself am stright up melee.mage isnt my style.i'd rather get up close and personal with mobs as i slaughter them and as for tsybil's post,my bad guess i forgot to add red mage in there >< .......well actually i didnt,rdm would be in the supporting catagory.

Yes, in the supporting catagory, the healing catagory, and the nuking catagory

not for me, my parties learned very quickly that during the SC window im waiting for the effect to go off, then burst, then go back to refresh/debuff/dispel ect.

But ya, all those pretty melee wouldn't have gotten far without mages willing to keep them alive and up

I'm not sure. I enjoy WHM and BLM a lot. There's a lot of satisfaction in keeping a party up after someone's been a dickwad and cast their Blind spell at the wrong target, leaving you two mobs to fight instead of one; but there's also the satusfaction of seeing your spells hit for a lot more than the rest of the party put together ^^
The one I've had most fun with, though, is probably RDM. It's also the one I've had least fun with. When I'm free to act as debuff and do some melee, I'm happy. But I've been in parties where my RDM/BLM was the main healer >.> Was an interesting party, that one.

Probably worth noting my highest job lvl is WHM 21, BTW.

Of course its healing, though nuking is alot of fun too

I'm a Ninja and I tank (I think I do a fairly good job when decked out, rampaging Galka complain about having to stack Mighty Strikes with everything else to pull hate off of me) but I wish I could move into the supporting/damage side of ninja over tanking (and I don't give a damn about what a job was suppose to be, the only thing that matters now is what they currently do). Unfortunately there is no open niche for anything but tanking. So, psuedo-tanking is what I'll be found doing.

used to like pulling... that is why play rng and thf I guess... but I think I got burned out doing it >.> so now just having fun playing mnk (don't need to pull, lol)

I'm a red mage so its all of the above ^_^

However I hated having had memorized skill chain charts, the best possible gear for level, and a reputation for being able to pull with a class not optimized for pulling better then most who were optimized and being able to out dps every thf and drk I ever met and Still Never Finding a group far more.

And I'm still the only true tanking kitty. ^^

Honestly, I like being a DD in the PTs.

But, I have also tried other roles such as supporting, tanking, healing.

Being a DD is somewhat easy because all you do is help out in SC and show off your powa!
