Mithran Homeland in the Next Expansion?

Found this in the latest Vana'diel Tribune II:
So is it true that there are places other than the Far East that aren't on the map?

"In the south lies the Mithran homeland."
"I've been to Kazham before!"
"No, I am talking about a different place. There is a great nation even further south that the founders of Kazham came from."
"Reeeally!?"
I'm not sure if SE is slipping us a clue or if it's some reporter's hot air but a mithran homeland would be very cool. (Hopefully this place won't have those smelly opo-opos running around.)

Other places they mentioned are: The Far East, The Near East, Gugru Blue, and to the north the Orcish Empire and islands of the Gigas.

i hope that if they do make a homeland that they make quests that require mithra. Just so ppl realize how fricken cool we are.

MITHRA > ELVAAN :evil:

Thats right i said it and you can tell any elvaan. Time for mithra to become the new hot sh?t. Get bored of hearing elvaan are so cool and the best at this job or etc :?

Cutest. Thing. Ever.

If the Male Mithra became playable, I would so sue for a sex change. Or at the very least, switch around some .dat files so I looked like a male mithra...to myself at least...

I wouldnt mind changing my chac to a male mithra. Thus ending this manthra need. I love Katina but i wont lie that i daydream of being a male mithra and having a diff name. I choose mithra b/c elvaan made me stick with all the missing at low lvls as i watched mithra chacs hit for mad damage and acc. Also i have long learned that mithra are better than hume imo. Better dex and agi vs a hume and we match their mp at all lvls so going mage has its bonus for us with the agi. Idk bout hp comparision to a hume but it cant be a big diff and our str vs other races can be fixed ez.

I agree Katina. I choose Mithra primarily for the stats. First char was elvaan and she couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. In melee!

I do hope that when the expansion comes out, we can just go to the Mithra homeland and not have to jump through a bunch of hoops first. That's right Tavnazia, I'm looking at you!

It seems that many on Vanad'iel care little about Charsima, prefering the unlisted stat Beauty.

Who cares if it takes 1/10 of a second longer to charm a Dhalmel. They are not what I wish to charm.

Just thought I'd add some interesting info to this. Today SE posted info about the new Fan Festival taking place in LA. (You can find that here.)

They make an interesting comment concerning ToAU:
SE wrote:Play the Treasures of Aht Urhgan Expansion!
Our newest expansion played here first with brand new zones and kingdoms! Not to mention your chance to battle against a variety of newly created monsters and enemies. This expansion features massive and mysterious new worlds, intriguing stories and characters. New monsters and jobs make this an event FINAL FANTASY XI players can't miss!
Please note that they said new kingdoms and once again said new jobs (The first is on the ToAU page found here) The date of this festival is March 9th-11th and includes the world premiere of the playable Treasures of Aht Urhgan. So, I'm guessing that the expansion will be available late April/Early May.

So, who's ready to make the migration to the Kingdom of the Mithra? Meefra onry prease. :D

I have no idea if this has been confirmed but I have heard that they delayed FFXI for Xbox 360 so ToAH could be bundled with that version so the late April/Early May release date makes sense since that's when FFXI for 360 releases.

As for more Kingdoms, i say the more the Merrier. Hopefully we get so many that we can knock Sandy Oreo out of the Conquest top ten!

Hehe this is an exciting prospect indeed :)

Firstly SE won't make male mithras playable, if you read the manual it says that the males are wimpy and never leave the safety of their own home so they can never be an adventurer.

The new expansion is meant to be a solo pack kinda doodar, so even if you do have to do some quests to access these areas it shouldn't be too hard to do :) and hopefully be quite fun :D

"meethra"? The Japanese don't have a "th" sound, "mithra" is actually translated to "misura" on the JP version :)

FFXI manual for Windows PC wrote:Mithra- A race of catlike humanoids, the Mithra live in Windurst and it's surrounding islands. They are characterized by their large ears, long tails, and superior agility. There are very few male Mithra, and only female Mithra venture out into the world.
Says nothing at all about them being wimpy dearie, it just says there are very few, which I'd say means they end up staying there for the sake of continuation of the species (meaning most males would love to be one. ^^; ).

It's implied :P since only the females venture out from the safety of their own homes that leaves the males stuck inside like a big wussfactory :P

Wussfactory? Call is what you will, but in my mind, it's something pretty different :wink:

Im still seeing males in aprons.. with tails.
But the new expansion has "The Far East" it'll be in the west for sure and it'll have mithra.. cuz Kazham is just an outpost :roll: , and us mithra are the japanese ppl's favorites :P . I cant wait for Blue mage or w/e they name it
looks fun. If it is a mithra nation you can join that would include a set of missions wouldnt it.. and also since the new areas need to un-locked how could you start a character there? I think that the possiblity of it being a mithra city is high but i doubt you can join it...but i donno it just seems like little problems with the idea.. but male mithra, you better save one for me :love:

Meethra? :? Who said anything about "meethra"? Do you mean when I said "meefra" and I don't recall it saying anything about it being Nihongo. If I wanted it to be in Japanese I would have written it using the respective kana and kanji. All I said was, "Meefra onry prease." Which was nothing more then a vacuous statement spoken phonetically. And if the truth be told a play on a running joke in the movie Team America. :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, since the new expasion won't be out for another few months, I guess I have time to sing The Llama Song (by Burton Earny) Here's a llama there's a llama and another little llama fuzzy llama funny llama llama llama duck ...
That's the problem Jadus, even when... IF... we do find them, we don't get one, we get a timeshare option.
Bleh well "meefra onry" sounded JP-like, hence the correction :P
