nice! I did a chocobo race but i missed the high score by 2 minutes. all i got was a clump of gyshal greens..

I've done two of those and missed the high score by a minute both times.

I don't even try to win those races, I would have to have the reflexes of a coke addict to get the high scroes, instead i see it as a way to save money if i need to go somewhere....

Three tries now. Choco tickets every time.

I haven't tried this yet, but the only way you can get xp is by beating the record? Do the records ever get reset?

I don't know, this is the only one I've done, but it you look at http://www.mithrapride.org/vana_time/ch ... table.html there is a time limit for each. My assumption is that if you finish it with in the time limit you get the prize listed.

I managed to get a page of the Dragon Chronicles after doing {San d'Oria} to {Bastok} in 19:57. I think you get the pages if you are within a minute of the record.

I think you get the top prize if you beat or tie the record.

I have been within 1 min of the time twice, and on a Windurst - Bastok run within two (record 20something mins.) As I said Choco tickets each time.

That's OK they are useful, and my RL best friend and in game sister has yet to get anything other than Gyshal Greens.

I believe the record is reset weekly. I intend to be at a stable on Garuda some Sunday at 8:AM PDT. I am a good rider, but not a great rider it seems and think I have better odds on winning that way.

The Glyphs are a top prize, just not as desireable as the EXP pages.

This means the top prize is awarded at some small % off the top time or perhaps 30 seconds off. You don't remember the best time by chance do you?
