Ok I was fooling around with google preferences...and decided to have a quick scroll down of the other languages you can set google in.

Now as I'm quickly eyeballing them, something catches my eye..."Klingon"

I kid you not. :!:

Now as I'm fiddling around trying to change the preferences back to english..."Elmer Fudd" shows up...In the languages to select.

Now with that on klingon now says "Klingon, uh-hah-hah-hah" and norwegian "nowwegian (Jibber jabber)."

Anyway, in liew of this finding post a peculiar language that meets the eye...and a description of what the language looks like.

So far "funny" languages are:

Klingon
Elmer Fudd

They used to have "Swedish Chef" but took it down. I can only assume someone got offended.

Bork-bork-bork...

They need to add Taru (add a "aru" after every word that ends in a T") and Mithran (Triple the number of R's in in each word).


Oh and Elvaan (change the tone of sentances to sound more smug).

You know... Klingon is a real language at this point. I'm no hardcore trekkie and no, I don't know a lick of Klingon (nor would I want to), but I've taken some linguistics courses in the past. I've heard stories about business(wo)men who communicated without knowing any of each other's languages... except Klingon.

There's also the one about the parent who wanted his son or daughter (I don't remember) to be the first native Klingon speaker. Since there are no regions that would have Klingon as an official language and native language is defined as the first language one learns, there were no native speakers. So, as a first language this kid learns Klingon from parental unit(s) speaking it around him/her. Pretty f'ed up, no?
