Good luck on the costume.

I will be doing RDM AF armor for Cascadia Con in Seattle, prrrobably 2 sets. BTW, I hate doing hats.....

While I have been sewing costumes for Cons and SCA forrrever, I STILL don't know what differeniates a cosplayer from anyone else wearring a costume.

wish i had the time to make a costumes/armors/etc...
wish i knew how to too...
wish FFXI were like .Hack an i got IN the game while my RL body goes comatose and may eventually die... k that last part isnt so good but... at least i'd have all the time in the world to play :P ... assuming SE dont kill me IG when they do updates... maybe my MH would be a safe place when that happened? oh well...
itd be better if i could...
impose my spirit into the game>>my body goes comatose>>taken to hospital>>get bored in game/updates r iminent>>make my spirit go back to body>>repeat...
but thatd cost money in the hospital... or i/we could buy/build home life support systems... maybe i should shut up now...

That is an awesome idea, but probably something already being produced. The is a little off the subject but something that Karou said about having a sandy ring. I would definately want to get a sandy ring for myself. If someone was at a con selling those bad boys, i bet they would fly. Truely awesome idea. :D

As far as costumes, I don't think I would pass as a very good Mithra at all. Maybe after this summer I would have slimmed down enough to attempt it, but I have the frame of a Galka and not a Mithra... so no matter how much weight I loose, I would still look like a big Mithra. Or a Galka dressed as a Mithra.. :?

I am excelent at sewing, having done it for my living on occasion. Hats are not much sewing, mostly shaping and blocking felt.

Thanks for the link, I will keep my eyes on that site for when it gets back in stock.

Don't know about how well you can travel, but there is a Worldcon in Japan this year. Wish I could go. When Worldcon is in North America, we have a Down Under Fan Fund (Started long before the Simsons and Duff Beer...) to bring one Aussie fan to it. You have to be a Big Name Fan to qualify though....

Three things that changed sewing for me forever:

Commerical machines. I have owned a big Juki walking foot for decades now. I once calculated its top speed was 87 1/2 MPH. I have owned cars that couldn't go near that fast. Put the pedal down all the way and the thread melts though....

Learning production tecniques. The basic one is called "chaining" BTW. Now I know how to chain monsters as well as quilts.

Turning out 72 crochless leather panties before lunch.

More reason to burn him!

Somebody club him, I'll take care of the rope and the wood.

I think I'm siding with Batsu on everything he's said so far. I first saw the RSE costume on Playonline when you read about the recent convention. It is a very nice costume, but it's all somewhat disturbing. I think that RSE is mass produced in Japan since I've seen it so much by now (which is what I believe Karou was talking about).

As for the cat, yeah it's cruel but it's hilarious!
