As demonstrated in the favorite music thread, there are many kitty anime fans. Here is a thread dedicated to your favorite anime.

My favorites are Tenchi Muyo, and Big O.

Yesss! A subject I like to talk of....favorites coming right up! :D

Azumanga Daioh - You either love or hate this series - I just loved it.
Chobits - I think this was the third anime series I watched - right after Hellsing and Love Hina. Chii is just soooo cute!
Dominion Tank Police - Before I even knew what anime was, about 6 years ago, I saw this short OAV-series with some people. The muscles in my stomach ached for 2 days after....
Elfen Lied - The most recent addition to my list of personal favorites. Some can't see beyond the extreme graphic violence of the series and stop watching after the first episode or so. In later episodes the ferocious, psychological cruelness really strikes you and you watch the rest of the series in a row, feeling unreal for days. At least that's what happened to me.
Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu! - Someone realized that what was drawing so much viewers to watch FMP! was not the serious plot but rather the 'fillers' full with hilarious situations usually involving Sagara Sousuke's non-existent ability to understand human relations....and so one of the best comedy animes was born!
Full Moon wo Sagashite - The main character - Kouyama Mitsuki - was the sole factor for raising this series to my favorites. Her personality reflects things I truly value in a person: empathy, kindess and a positive view of life.
Great Teacher Onizuka - Onizuka Eikichi - the great teacher of life. Well, ok....mostly I remember this series as a comedy although there are several other memorable moments as well.
Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien - A regular schoolromance -anime. Why I'd list something like this as one of the best anime I've ever seen? That's for you to find out! Can't say anything without really spoiling the whole idea.
Onegai Teacher - One of the first series I ever watched. A really nice and romantic story.
RahXephon - Some say it is a bad copy of NGE (without even seeing it). I say NGE is a bad copy of RahXephon. Ok, you're right - it really was made later than NGE...and was better in every way imaginable. The most important part being, the main character is not a little kid wimpering about how bad the world is all the time. Kamina Ayato has his own personality which is much more interesting. Alltogether a more mature series than NGE. Now don't get me wrong - I liked NGE very much until episode 17 or so (except for Shinji). After that it's just incomprehensible garbage.
Rurouni Kenshin (all) - This series doesn't need any explanations or introductions I think....simply *THE* anime. I can't decide what would be the best anime ever (or best whatever ever) but if someone forced me to choose by pointing a gun at my nose, I'd say Rurouni Kenshin. :D
Juuni Kokki / Twelve Kingdoms - Like reading a really, really good fantasy book. This series overwhelms you from the start with so much information. The world of Juuni Kokki is incredibly well detailed one. This is how to make a really good series!
X-TV - This one too - one of the first series I watched. Drama with romance: the perfect mix!

And - so it seems - I'll join the club...I just hate Naruto even though I have seen only a few glimpses of it. Ok, ok this requires some explanation: I went to this anime-convention last summer. Before that I had never even heard of 'Naruto', but when I got back home I never even wanted to hear the damned word again. About 30 % of the convention visitors were young Naruto fans.... I will admit, that it might be somewhat interesting series someday (my friend watched it and I watched the first episodes with him). Then again....maybe not. I've never been into animes with little kids as main characters ('Full Moon wo Sagashite' defenitely being an exception).

The entire Captian Harloch (spelling?) series which spans decades Real Time in its making. I have gone to several Anime movies to discover happily that, unanounced and unadvertised, they are set in that universe.

Grey. Read first in translated Magna comic books, then only seen once in Japanese without subtitles. Deep.

Metropolis. The anime, not the silent film.

Helsing.

Others mentioned above.

Now, can anyone direct us to accual Kitty Anime? That is Anime featuring cat girls not unlike us?

A few titles with Catgirls in them are,

Outlaw Star - Aisha ClanClan (Also one of the greater comic relieves in the series)
Megami kuhousei - Dunno the character's name anymore (Candidate for Godess/Pilot candidate (Brr ADV is all wrong with that title))
Digi Charat - Dejiko-Nyo and Puchiko-Nyu! (Although more like little girls in Cat costume, still a hilarious anime!)
Nuku Nuku (Yes yes, a mechanical kitty)

There aren't any "normal" anime as far as I know that have catgirls in the lead

Escaflowne definitely deserves special mention along with Evangelion and Utena. All three had a sort of alternative form of narrative that if not revolutionary (not an Utena pun ;p) was refreshing. Though Utena's transformation sequences were a bit canned and long. lol

Saber Marionette J I thought was cute but I only watched a few episodes.

I read it the day before yesterday,

also some heated discussions about it,
But you can also look at it from a bright side,
You can soon buy the DVD's with better screen quality and "correct" subtitles.

Next to that you support the makers of the series so that they can make more anime for the masses. :)
