Post Your Desktop! What's on your screen?

I've done this before on other boards (can you tell I'm bored today? Yep.) Turned out to be quite a bit of fun :)

Anyway, here's mine:
http://mywebpage.netscape.com/MaryAlice ... 6-2003.jpg

Cute, huh?

Anyway, here's how you do that:

1. Minimize your browser.
2. Mash the print screen key on your keyboard, once.
3. Go into Paint, hit "Paste As New Image" (You can do this in other graphics programs, but...make sure you know how to import image from clipboard)
4. Make sure you save as a *.jpg file. (Paint CAN do that, don't worry. Just check the extenstions in the drop-down.)
5. Find a graphic hoster, and upload it. I know of several. http://mywebpage.netscape.com , http://www.myimgs.com , http://www.iownjoo.com/ , and http://www.you-are-a-huge-nerd.com/ would all work fine for your purposes...and you can use your account (unless you're usin' you-are-a-huge-nerd.com. You just upload there!) with any of these for showin' off screenys too.
6. Post the URL.

By the way, don't use the digital camera on your desk, please. I don't mean that, and doin' that is only good for a laugh!

Anyway, let's see what your desktop looks like!

With a clean format of my XP machine a few months ago (didn't live through the new hardware for XI), I haven't put much time into customizing my desktop. My laptop is only a month or two older, and haven't done much with that either... but I have had creativity in the past:

Eltanin (now known as tabby):

My current workstation at my job now uses screens from FFXI as backgrounds.. ;)

Sadly, while I'm very happy w/ my OS, it's version of MSpaint doesn't do .jpg.

Hmm...wierd.

My suggestion: get the GIMP so you can use that to save it as a *.jpg. You can get that at http://www.wingimp.org/ (Windows version)

Fair warning: it's a bit funky, you have to do a lot of right clicking to get at the menus. Otherwise a fairly solid graphics proggy. And it's free under the GNU license, so it's not adware crap or anything like that.

Here's my work PC's desktop, as both my home machine and laptop don't have wallpaper or anything else remotely interesting....

(if you leave out the desktop.jpg part you can see my cat and monkey)

Though in all fairness, I should have used a picture from:

http://www.despair.com

It just would have been more fitting....
Or maybe something from www.happytreefriends.com

Yes, I know I'm sick....

lol Jen. Friend of mine has a HTF DVD. Pretty twisted. I am I mean. Since I laughed so much.

I downloaded Gimp and tried to use it. After about 10 minutes I finally figured out how to convert to .jpg. Then it gave me an error in a DOS box and crashed. Tried again, this time Windows decided it needed to write an error log about whatever naughty thing it was trying to do. I think I'll dig though my room and try to find a copy of Photoshop. I know I have it... er somewhere.
