Im going to have a 2nd Character, can you tell me do they need to be on the same server to send each other items??

Yes to send other players or characters items or stuff they need to play on the same server.

If you have a character, all your subsequent characters will be on the same server.

Or, save the Gil you are going to spend on a world pass.
