I've been looking all over for a item database that lists where different items can be obtained and have yet to find one. Has anyone else found anything like this on the net?

If not I was thinking of building an item database which would list items dropped by monster/location or purchase location (other than AH), and the level the player was at the time that could be searched by player lvl, category (like AH), approx sale value (for each nation), approx AH value (for each nation). If there isn't anything like this already and everyone would contribute to it I will take the time to build it. I also think this should only be available for confirmed MP members since we don't want to run the bandwidth cost of the site through the roof.

I think that could be neat....

I'm a level-11 WHM and these are all "easy"

in giddeous I have gotten these drops from Yagudo (either Acylotes or Initiates):
Wind crystals
Brass Cap
Slops
(some other type of pants too)
bead necklaces

Dirt Eaters (Giddeous)
earth crystals
copper ore
zinc ore
silver ore

Maps would be good too.. or at least where to get them. Where do I get a map for Giddeous anyway come to think of it :)

You can buy it for 600gil from the map seller in Windurst Woods near the "tree fountain".

The only way I would support something like this is if it was ONLY avaliable to MP members, and not the general public.

This will be only for Mithrapride members, unless gamefaqs offers me a ton of gil for it .. heh j/k. This is a MP project only.

www.ff11worlds.com is a new site with a beastiary, i think they're in the mist of implementing what item each monster drops. Their IRC is irc.gamesnet.net #ffxi

I haven't had time to do much past modeling the database and putting in test data :P I guess I'll wait and see.

ffxi.allakhazam.com has a very extensive (and ever-increasing) items list and you can sort them all by different criteria. Also has (in most cases) what quests/monsters you can obtain the item(s) from. I'd recommend checking that out before you spend too much time making your own database.
