That's not a cover-all kinda statement. I've hung out with kitties for 3+ hours at a time and there were no problems.
Well, Kopopo, the sad thing is that there other members of your race who damage the good reputations of the few. As far as mithra go many people think all mithra are sluts because a few hussies walk around darn-near naked using their bodies to sell their wares. Thus, they ruin it for the rest of us. Many unfortunate humes have had to be subdued by swift inguinal kicks by yours truly.

Tivia, Even we noble Elvaan are not immune to Taru harrasment. The other day i was in Selbina and a little taru came up to me while i was healing myself from a arather unfourtunate encounter with a Goblin Gambler, i guess he liked to Gamble with his life cause he lost it after trying to mess with me. Anyways, I washealing by the city gate and this little Taru comes up to me and starts working on my leg in a most unpleasant way. I tried to shake my leg free of him, but he kept working himself on it. It was disgusting! I had to replace the Fine Trousers I had bought earlier that week in Bastock. Those Trousers were expensive!!! Even after my moogle cleaned them, I couldn't put them on.

The strange thing was, in all the time I spent in windurst earlier I never had an incident like this happen to me. Do the Cardians throw out little Taru who have become corrupted, never to let them into windurst again? Or do Taru who travel abroad get corrupted somehow, or was i just an unlucky individual who ran into the wrong Taru at the wrong time?

I am glad to be a Elvaan. I can take pride in my manhood, and my bigs ears among other things :wink: ... and I dont get hit on my random guys for being one disguised as a mithra. :? Haha , too weird for me...
but you guys don't know how to shoot, hold a bow, or hit anything you aim at.

Maybe if you held a bow properly, you'd he able to hit what you're aiming at.

^ We Elvaans hold our bows "Gangsta Style". Why we haven't figured out how to do archery right eludes even me.

I think elves pose strangely for everything from casting spells to shooting bows because they were designed to look awkward and graceless (in keeping with their racial traits).

However, their awkward poses often look more cool because they're slightly off. ;) Elves casting ninjitsu look like Elvis striking a pose :lol:

Has anyone else ever noticed that only the elvaan have the animation for the robes flowing up in a sort of breeze? Mithra, hume and taru don't even get this little effect. (i don't know of galka do or not...rarely have I seen a galka mage and even more rarely have the time to watch them cast) My friend and I both are led to believe that the elvaan are just drama queens and always looking for attention. :P

^ & ^^

Speaking as an Elvaan, I agree we do tend to overdramatize our actions when using magic and weapons and even eating things. We have a reputation to maintain, that of being cool and good looking when doing everything, sometimes it backfires and we look awkward, just look at a running Elvaan sometime and notice how our heads bob back and forth, we look like blooming idiots sometimes I dare say. I guess that is the price we have to pay for having such graceful features like long pointy ears and long necks.

Now the robe flowing is not caused by any special power, it is a Elvaan secret that i will share with all you kitties here despite the risk of me loosing my San d'Orian citizenship.

...

<whispers quitely>

The reason our robes flow is because Elvaan are very discreet about passing gas and thus do so while casting magic so that no one notices it and if it smells we can always blame the magic for the smell. This is why you don't want to be standing downwind when an Elvaan Black Mage is casting Bio.

</whispers quitely>

So there you have it, the ancient Elvaan secret to flowing robes!

On that note...

Mithra have rarely seen, but cool animations of their own...

If you leveled ninja from 1 to 9 you'll know what I'm talking about: fighting with a single katana (pre-Dual Wield). The behind-the-back attack is very cool. 8)

{Deodorize}{Elvaan}{Mage} :mrgreen:

I've always had a problem with Elvaan's necks. They seem like they're too... long and flexible. Like Square put a ball joint in the animation skeleton in the middle of their necks. They just don't look right when they're targetting someone, making them turn their heads in an uncomfortable way. Ow.

We Elvaan have out issues that is for sure.

Case in point, our long necks:

Some people call us derogatory names like "longneck" or "Dhamel necks", but this is not our fault, it is an adaptation that has served us quite well. You see, Elvaan have excellent hearing due to our large pointed ears being able to pick up a crwaler munching on leaves halfway across East Sabarutaru land. The problem with out ears is that they don't really move by themselves. We are envy the Mithra because they have those ears near the tops of their heads and those things can move on their own and point themselves near interesting sounds. We Elvaan have to crane our necks and twist our heads to get a good lock on noises. So when you see an Elvaan with his head turned to the side in a position that would surely cause "neck tunnel symdrome" in a hume, they are just trying to hear better.

Of course the Humes say that our long necks and long pointed ears are caused by us hanging our children by their ears. This should be dismissed as something the Humes tell their smelly unruly children to keep them somewhat in line and out of trouble, and from my latest trip to Bastock this hardly seems to work at all.
