This isn't game related, but it's something I'm really excited about and feel like it was a big RL accomplishment.

Some time ago my station's control room (that's where we make the TV magic happen) went High Def. It was a highly stressful time and caused me to be absent from game a lot.
After that, late-night baseball games cut me off from FFXI.
After baseball it was time to get in gear for Election Night. (more absence)

Getting ready for Election Night was crazy... I got an order from the Exec. Producer to build a set of templates to interface with this news ticker program we have called Freedom.
I had NO IDEA HOW. Remember, I'm on all brand new equipment and have barely begun to scratch the surface of what it can do.
So like a good little Lyric Lioness, I dove eagerly into this challenge.
After 3 days of doing my regular job plus researching and testing I finished.

Election night arrived and my templates worked flawlessly with Freedom.
I was overjoyed because we had run into several problems along the way.
The Bosses were very pleased as well.
I figured that was the end of that excitement, until I went to work the following day...

From our news director (big boss)
Our election coverage tonight was stellar. There is no doubt that we were head and shoulders above our competitors. We were the ONLY station to have virtually every speech live.
We beat our competitors in their own time slot. It appeared all night they were following us.
Our numbers were right on.
The control room staff couldn't have been better.
Finally, hats off to the engineers who pulled a very complicated election together with a brand new TOC, control room and master control.
From Shep
Wow.
Congrats on the huge numbers Tuesday night at 10. 6.7? Are you kidding me?
All of us in cable land are mighty proud of y'all.
I just saw Dennis Swanson in the hall.
He's ecstatic.
Take a bow.
Shepard Smith
From the GM (super duper biggest boss before corporate)
Congratulations to all on last night's coverage of the mid-term elections.
The news programming put on by WTXF was excellent and all-encompassing - the only station to carry all of the speeches - what an accomplishment!
Special kudos to the news and engineering departments and managers for their efforts, hard work and results which paid off in the ratings:
Ten O'Clock News was the #1 late news in the key 25-54 demo of the local late newscasts and #2 in Household rating of the local late newscasts.
In addition, the news was #2 in HH vs.. the NETWORK coverage in the 10 -11:00PM time period and #1 in the key 25-54 demo against that same NETWORK coverage.
Excellent work by the entire WTXF staff.

Game related: BST lvl 7

You get a raise or a bonus? :)

Well if we're not doing game related stuff;

I can play I Love Rock And Roll (by Joan Jett) all the way through in time minus the solo and little riffs.
I can play Smoke On The Water (by Deep Purple) almost entirely without the solo (still have trouble with bar-chords and chord switches).
I can play the intro to Fuel (by Metallica), that's the fast hammer-ons and pull-offs on the low E string for anyone who knows about guitars

Game related; I haven't played in well over a month

My review time isn't for several months, but I won't let my boss forget!

I can't play guitar at all so /praise on your talent!

I would be sad you aren't playing, but I'm not on your server :P
 I haven't been playing much either. Half the time it's a friend of mine on as me... except for the hard stuff like Dynamis.

And the fun stuff like dinging 7 on BST & hack n' slashing crabs on Quifim :)

LOL, Shirai -- if you love doing weird stuff as WHM, you should try WHM/thf, too. It's the best main/sub combo around for pulling Dynamis. Flee+RR3 ftw!

Got lvl 30 war. My very first Melee job lvled up. I never thought I would see the day I'd be walking around in Eisenplatte Armor carrying a Great Axe.. Next Melee job on the list is Corsair. :)

My current goal is to stay around long enough to see Bismarck come back to life...and to master leveling solo! (I WILL solo! Dang it! Since there's never a PT when I need one).

Awesome, I know the pain of starting an LS/community on a server thats dead (not MP of course, we rock!).
As for soloing, its an art, it takes alot of lvls, and alot of lost-lvls to learn to do it well. I really really hope you succeed!

Well, I figured it's about time I got a proper update including piccies on here. ^^;

I know I made a post about it a while back, but I figured I'd finally get around to posting pics of it.

Yes, I use a huge game rez, so sue me, it looks pretty on my 21" monitor.

And also, I have finally attained NIN75. Kintrra was much happy.

And for some reason, I found this quite pretty. My first return trip to Windurst by any way other than Outpost in a long time. This cat returned home finally.

Psst... Corsair isn't melee, it's ranged (unless you're gimpo) :P It's more support than anything anyways :P

If your next goal is Corsair, level Ranger first.

Well you may as well level to 20 as COR/WHM, but after that any COR who doesn't /RNG is fooling himself.

Kampf beats Esin hands down, and you can resell it the week before Xmas for a tidy profit I bet. Royal Squire's Mufflers when not tanking.

Well, I'm new to the site, so I guess my latest accomplishment would be finding this place lol. Been in MP on Carby for 2 years and to the best of my knowledge, nobody said anything about there being a kitty forum like this.

Otherwise it'd be figuring out how to get through the Feywood in FFXII. But I suppose that doesn't count since SE replaced us kitties with bunnies huh?
