one game that noone seems to mention that i personally enjoyed immensly is Vagrant Story. i regard it as the best non-FF game square has ever made :D the story for that game is incredible and the graphics are more like artwork than any other game i've played (keep in mind this is a ps1 game, so there is some leeway given in resolution and such). and i absolutely love the speech baloons :) the gameplay is very fun, if slowpaced (some battles can take for ever, but you can infinite combo with the right button presses so eventually, even 1hp at a time, you can defeat anything  ).

that was off topic, but i felt like sharing :P

I liked the parasite even games :?:

never played bouncer though.

But the point I was eluding to was Star Ocean was hyped for months to be the Ultimate RPG ever...and it failed utterly to deliver that in my opinion. The cinamatics were indeed beautiful, however the actual gaming graphics imo were utterly horrible, I absolutley Hate that style. Hate to say it but from what I have seen, Fable is by far the best RPG to come out this year...FFXII is gonna have to work hard to best that one.

Naw Moogles were in FF4j i think.. or was it FF5.. In ff6 the moogles were becoming extinct i think... ff7 had them summonable witha chocobo... its been way too long since i went thru the series and just played them thru...

SoM had "The Mana Sword" which was also in Final Fantasy Adventure/aka Sword of Mana... cant think which one came before the other tho timeline wise...

Final Fantasy Legend seemed like a disjuncted series... FFL1 gave a minor lead-in to FFL2 which had a small reference in FF5j i think and a cameo in FFL3

how they are gonna tie Ivalice and vana'diel to the normal worlds of Final Fantasy i dont know... but its prolly easiier to explain it with the story line of FFL1&2 thanks to things like Dynamis and Promyvion

I didn't care for Secret of Mana. Just couldn't get a handle on the combat system. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, 100% bar I can finally attack! *miss* Wash rinse repeat. Star Ocean 2 had a similar combat system and I had no trouble with it. Don't know what the difference was but I couldn't get out of the forest you end up in after getting kicked from your village at the very beggining of SoM due to loosing most every fight.

FF4j was FF2eng. That was the FF with Cecil, Cid, Kain etc. No moogles in that one. Maybe FF5... I have yet to play that one through though. FF6 came after Secret of Mana but 5 was before it... hrrrmmm.

Post by Chayala »

First moogle... Final Fantasy Adventure... It was a status effect... ^_^
I don't remember what the effect did, but i remember it was cute, and i remember in secret of mana it was cute, and you couldn't attack while you were mooglefied
